How you can help:
Donate canned goods or boxed, non-perishable food items.

Find other community partners who are also taking up donations at this time.

“Steering the Conversation: Why Mental Health Matters”

The Alabama Department of Mental Health is inviting everyone to join the movement to steer the conversation around mental health and wellness one license plate at a time.

The “Mental Health Matters” specialty tag is more than just a plate. It is a statement of support and a step toward change. The funds from the sales of each tag will help promote mental health resources and services available across Alabama, ensuring individuals and families know where to turn for help when they need it most.

Mental health impacts every aspect of our lives. Our relationships, work, physical health, and communities. Yet, stigma continues to keep many from seeking the care and understanding they deserve. By displaying this tag, we hope to help normalize conversations about mental health. However, this change starts with visibility and small everyday reminders that it is okay to talk not to be ok.

Show your commitment to a healthier, more compassionate Alabama and drive awareness by purchasing a tag today!

To learn more about how to purchase the tag or share materials with your community, visit https://mh.alabama.gov/mental-health-matters-license-plate/.

How to Reserve a License Plate http://almentalhealthmatters.org

1. Have your VIN (Vehicle Identification Number) ready. You'll need it to complete the form. 2. Go to https://mydmv.revenue.alabama.gov/tap/_/

3. Click on “Reserve Pre-Commitment Plate.”

4. Select the Plate Type: Choose “Alabama Department of Mental Health.”

The preorder fee goes directly toward your car registration and will not be charged again.
