The one and only Karen will retire today. Karen has been in the dental field for over 45 years and has been Dr. Baggett’s right-hand woman for over 15 years. In fact, Karen helped him open the Calera practice in 2009. And without exception, Karen has greeted each and every patient with warmth, kindness and a smile. She encourages her coworkers professionally and personally. She makes the world’s best peanut butter fudge. She travels the world with her beloved Charlie and has raised three incredible children. She never forgets a birthday or a face. She loves birds and barbecue. She serves her church and community wholeheartedly and shines a light on us all. Our office will not be the same without her. Words cannot adequately express how much we will miss her but we hope you will join us in wishing her a wonderful retirement.

We are pleased to reopen today, May 4th. We are taking additional precautions in an effort to keep our patients, ourselves and our community protected. At this time, we only have a limited number of appointments available as we navigate how to safely reopen.

Our waiting room will remain closed. We will not be seeing any walk-ins. When you arrive for your scheduled appointment, you will be asked to call us from the car and we will greet you outside. A staff member will take your temperature and complete a brief screening to assess any COVID-19 related symptoms.

If you had a scheduled appointment during our closure, we will contact you over the next couple of weeks to discuss rescheduling your appointment.

We appreciate your patience and understanding and look forward to seeing you soon.

At the recommendation of the Alabama Department of Public Health, the ADA and the CDC, our office will close on Thursday, March 19th @ 12 p.m.

We plan to reopen on Monday, April 13th @ 8 a.m.

The nature of our work causes us to be at a very high risk of exposure. While we employ precautions to keep everyone safe, it has become necessary to postpone ALL NON-URGENT dental appointments. Additionally, we will not be able to take any new patients at this time.

We know these changes create a hardship but we are committed to protecting our patients, our staff and our community. If you have questions and/or a dental emergency, you can contact us via email at baggettdental@gmail.com. You can also visit our website (posted below) for a description of urgent symptoms, non-urgent procedures and at-home treatment.

Please continue to practice social distancing and stay home if you can. This is new territory for all of us but we hope that we can navigate this epidemic together (but separately!) in an effort to mitigate the impact of this disease in our community.

COVID-19 UPDATES:

Based on new recommendations from The Alabama Department of Public Health, we will be greatly reducing the number of available appointments over the next several weeks.

While we recognize that this will be an inconvenience for many, we are dedicated to protecting our patients, our staff and our community.

Re: COVID-19

In an effort to continue providing dental care, we have established the following policies until further notice:

If you have traveled overseas or been on a cruise during February or March 2020, please reschedule your appointment.

If you are experiencing any flu-like symptoms (including fever, cough and/or shortness of breath), please reschedule your appointment.

Please do not bring additional people (including children) to your appointment. It is important that we limit the number of people in the office to protect our staff and patients.

If you have questions about whether or not you should reschedule, please call us at (205) 668-1599 before coming to the office.

Your adherence to these policies will allow us to continue to serve our community without interruption for as long as we can.
