There are ways of which you learn to navigate your bodies communication.
When we feel triggered; it can certainly cause some overwhelming feelings that can be pretty intense if we weren't taught how to innerstand and flow with what is happening in our bodies at the moment we have chemicals bursting in our brain and our blood is rushing though our bodies.
I learned myself through a lifetime of trauma, loss, different expressions of abuse from different walks of life. Back when I was learning how to catch my breath when something horrible was happening there were not many books, channels of podcast talking about nervous system regulation, internal family systems, or deepening knowledge on narcissism.
In Tibet the first thing they teach children isn't their manners at the dinner table; it isn't to share either.
Its how to breathe.
How to be IN the body
How the breath works
Now, I'm not here to talk about that as much as I am here to talk about a simple process you can do to help yourself when you are feeling overwhelmed, stress or are dealing with a trigger in the body.
When we are visited by a trigger, we can reframe this after we take the initial breath, with closed eyes
Not letting what happened that brought the trigger up, to control you
As we are breathing; we are letting our thinking mind let go of attaching blame
Just naturally taking the bodies deep slow breaths; allow whatever is flowing through your body to move like a wave; acknowledging that any thought you are having is possible irrational until you find your center again; after allowing the waves to move through the body without holding on to any of it.
After you allow the intense waves to move through your body and mind; your able to approach the situation with a more regulated system instead of a dysregulated one where mistakes can often be made in the heat or thick of it.
