I hope all of my followers have had a wonderful holiday season. The end of the year is always a great time for reflection: to see where we’ve been and where we’re going.

As we begin to enter 2026, I want to wish all of you a joyous new year!

If you’ve considered counseling, reach out and let’s get you scheduled. I have some openings in my schedule at the Calhoun office, which is rare as my schedule stays pretty full, so let’s get you booked and start the new year off in a positive direction.

Every green shirt, post, and donation raises awareness for youth experiencing homelessness, and reminds them they’re not alone.

🎄 Reminder: Christmas Assistance Applications 🎄

Just a reminder that Christmas assistance applications are currently being accepted in the office!

The deadline to return applications is November 21st.

Please remember:
-All required documentation must be provided when you turn in your application.
-Parents must attend at least one class to be eligible to receive Christmas assistance.
-The class schedule can be found on our VAC website.

We look forward to helping make the holiday season a little brighter for families in our community!

The VAC Community Kitchen serves free meals to anyone in need. No questions asked, no requirements, just a warm meal and a welcoming place.

As many of you are aware, the anticipated shutdown of the SNAP program may lead to a considerable increase in individuals and families seeking food assistance within our community. In preparation, we have gathered and organized a list of all local Gordon County food pantries, including their current distribution days and times.

Please be mindful that community food pantries are intended to provide supplemental assistance and distribute food based on the availability of their resources at any given time.

In addition, the Voluntary Action Center provides hot meals to the community Monday through Friday. Lunch is served on-site from 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM, and dinner is offered in take-out containers from 4:45 PM to 5:45 PM.
