✨ 2025 was a standout year for Downtown Calhoun — and it happened because of YOU. ✨
As we look back on the past year, we’re incredibly grateful for the community, partners, business owners, and visitors who showed up, shopped small, and helped make downtown a place people want to be.
📍 38,000+ additional visitors downtown
From a downtown perspective, foot traffic matters. Every person who comes downtown represents a chance for a small business to make a connection, earn a customer, and grow. Our focus is on creating an inviting, active downtown that attracts people here; when businesses lean into these moments, those visits can turn into lasting customer relationships. Events aren’t just about fun (though they are!)—they’re about building energy, supporting our local economy through new visitors, and enhancing quality of life for our community. We broke the attendance record for BBQ & Boogie 2025 by 2,000 people in its 13-year history of this incredible event! One downtown store reported sales over 7k from Saturday alone. Increased foot traffic can make a big impact!

Our story reached more people than ever! Growth is happening, and we’re making sure downtown evolves in ways that keep its heart, charm, and character just the way our community loves it.
None of this happens in isolation. It happens because a community believes in its downtown. Thank you for being part of a year that strengthened our local economy, celebrated our history, and created moments worth gathering for. Here’s to building on that momentum in 2026. 💙
A special thank you to City Council & Mayor Palmer, Administrator Paul Worley & the Downtown Development Authority Board for their work for & support of our vibrant and special downtown!
