Edward Louis Fowler, 77, of Calhoun, Georgia, passed away on Saturday, February 28, 2026. He was born in Lafayette, Georgia, on February 8, 1949, to the late John and Hazel Prince Fowler. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers and sisters-in-law, Alton Fowler, William Fowler, Grady Fowler, Raymond Fowler, and J.D. and Shirley Fowler; sisters-in-law, Bobbie Jean Fowler, Judie Fowler, and Eileen Fowler; sisters, Vera Brown, Evelyn McEntyre, and Helen Kirby; brother in laws, Ray Kirby, Charles Brown, and Jimmy McEntyre.

He enjoyed spending time outdoors and staying active, always finding something to keep him busy. He loved playing golf with his close friends, and one of his greatest joys was being “Paw Paw” to his beloved grandchildren. He treasured every moment spent with them and took great pride in watching them grow.

He was a respected carpenter in the community for much of his life and took great pride in his craft. Among his many accomplishments, he built his own home, a lasting testament to his skill and dedication that his family will always cherish.

Edward was a member of Reeves Baptist Church.

Edward is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Janice O’Kelley Fowler; son and daughter-in-law, David and Torrie Fowler; daughter and son-in-law, Dawn and Wayne Stokes; brothers, Ralph Fowler, Robert Fowler and Billy Fowler; sisters-in-law, Sheila Fowler; grandchildren, Devin Fowler, Karter Fowler, and Blake Fowler; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, March 4, 2026, from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home.

The funeral service will be held on Thursday, March 5, 2026, at 1:00 PM from the Chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home with Rev. Jim Burns and Rev. Wesley Hunt officiating. Burial will follow in Gordon Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers are Gil Fowler, Lee Fowler, Bryan Fowler, Jamey Kirby, Jamie Rickett, and Les Prine. Honorary pallbearers are Milton Stewart, Joe Stewart, Ernie Smith, Gerome Crump, Vic Bohannon, and Jeff Henderson.

Judith “Judy” Ann Quinn, 82, of Calhoun, Georgia, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on March 1, 2026, in Calhoun, Georgia. She was born on May 24, 1943, in Rockwood, Tennessee, to the late Ray and Thula Foust.

Judy was a woman whose heart was devoted entirely to her family. Her children and grandchildren were the center of her world, and she took great joy in every moment spent with them. Gentle, patient, and endlessly supportive, Judy was a steady source of love and encouragement. She had a remarkable gift for making others feel welcomed and cherished.

Her home was often filled with the comforting aroma of home-cooked meals and the sound of laughter during family gatherings. Judy loved to cook and took pride in bringing everyone together around her table. Holidays, birthdays, and simple Sunday afternoons were made special by her thoughtful touches and warm hospitality.

Judy was a faithful and active member of Bethlehem Baptist Church in Resaca, Georgia. Her church family meant a great deal to her, and she lived out her faith through kindness, compassion, and quiet service to others.

She is survived by her loving family: her son, Wayne Warner (Cathy Warner); adopted daughter, Lena Crowley (David Crowley); stepdaughters, Courtney Davidson and Audra Quinn; stepson, Lee Quinn; sister-in-law, Viola Quinn; granddaughter, Lyndsey Beard; grandson, David Warner; great-granddaughters, Kylie Freeman, Joslynn Harvey, and Aamariah Crow; grandson, Caiden Warner; great-great-grandson, Klay Thundquist; and great-great-granddaughter, Charlotte Hossink. Each of them carries forward her legacy of love, strength, and devotion to family.

She was preceded in death by her parents Ray and Thula Foust, husband George Quinn and daughter Pam Burnette.

A memorial service will be held on March 8, 2026, at Max Brannon & Sons Funeral Home, with visitation from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. and the chapel service to follow at 2:00 p.m. Interment will take place at Fidelle Cemetery immediately following the service.

Judy’s life was a testament to unconditional love, steadfast faith, and the importance of family. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who were blessed to know her.

The funeral service will follow on Thursday at 4:00 PM from Calhoun First Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Fain Cemetery.

Mitchell Lynn Hurst, 74, of Calhoun, Georgia, passed away on Thursday, February 26, 2026. He was born in Newport, Tennessee, on June 30, 1951, to the late Harold and Elizabeth Hurst.

He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Alice Hurst; son, Chad Hurst; daughter, Kristen (Allen) Hurst Garland; brother, Terry (Renee) Hurst; sister, Marcia (David) Hill; grandchildren, Gage and Karma Garland, special friend, Lamar “Bodie” Ray and several nieces and nephews.

Mitchell loved bird hunting, horses, being outdoors as well as being involved with The National Shoot to Retrieve Association (NSTRA). Mitchell was a captain of his high school football team and played defense for Lees-McRae College in Banner Elk, North Carolina and later attended the University of Tennessee. He loved spending time with his family and friends was an avid fan of the Tennessee Volunteers.

On Wednesday, March 4, 2026, from 1:00 PM until 3:00 PM the family will receive friends at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home.Funeral services will be held afterwards, at 3:00 PM from the chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home.Rev. Kenny Jenkins and Rev. Ronnie Wells will be officiating. Pallbearers serving are Chad Hurst, Allen Garland, Charles Hiland, Damien Johns, Jason Jarnagin, and Bodie Ray.

Eulalia Estrada Hernandez, 86, of Calhoun, Georgia, passed away on Wednesday, February 25, 2026. She was born in Mexico, Juan Aldama Zac, on February 12, 1940 to the late Francisco Estrada and Gonifasia Hernandez. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sons, Eusebio Briseno and Roberto Estrada; brother, Zacarius Estrada; sisters, Maria Estrada and Jesusa Estrada.

Eulalia is survived by her son, Dionicio Estrada; daughters, Lorenza Briseno Estrada, Linda Fenton, and Maria E. Briseno Estrada; brothers, Juan Estrada, Victor Estrada, and Rosalio Estrada; sister, Socorro Estrada; twenty-two grandchildren; and thirty-eight great-grandchildren.

To honor her wishes, her body was cremated.

Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, March 4, 2026, at 10:00 AM from St. Clements Catholic Church.

Dallas Wayne Weaver, 76, passed away at home with his family on Thursday, February 26th, 2026.Wayne, as everyone knew him, was born April 22, 1949 in Calhoun, Ga., son of the late Larkin and clara Bess Moss Weaver.A carpenter who built and worked on many beautiful homes around Calhoun and Gordon county, he built countless gorgeous pieces of furniture and cabinets. He was extremely talented in many areas including singing, playing various musical instruments, and painting. He also loved horses. Wayne did many Tennessee walking horse shows and roping competitions. He enjoyed rides with his family especially.Wayne is survived by his wife Kitty Weaver; his children Sarah (Nick) Hurdle, Nathan Clemens, Chris Weaver and Matthew Weaver; Brothers Gregory (Shery) Weaver, and Barry Weaver; Sisters in law, Nancy Weaver, and Joanne Weaver;Honorary family members include Rebecca (Hawke) Watson, Diana (Jarod) Henderson, Cary (Chuck) Brock and all the Tifton kids.Surviving family also includes In-laws: Michael Martin (Dan Cameron), Carol Martin (Scott) Baldwin;Nieces and Nephews Ryan (Heidi) Weaver, Megan Weaver, Garrett (Lauren) Weaver, Allison (Lennie) Volek, Jada Weaver, Nathan (Carly) Weaver, Amanda (Ron) Chance, Kristi (Steve) Langham, David (Amy) Weaver. Pallbearers serving are Greg Weaver, Nathan Weaver, Garrett Weaver, Ryan Weaver, Luke Weaver, and Ron Chance. Honorary pallbearers are Nick Hurdle, Hawke Watson, and Jarod Henderson.

The family will receive friends Monday, March 2nd between the hours of 5:00 PM and 8:00 PM at the funeral home.

Vickie Lynn Williams, 76, of Calhoun, Georgia, passed away on February 27, 2026, after several years of declining health. She was born in Calhoun, on May 13, 1949, to the late Ralph Sr. and Freda Bagwell. She was preceded in death by her husband, Renia Erwin Williams, to whom she was married to for 44 years. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Ralph Jr., Terry, and Ronnie Bagwell.

She is survived by her brother, Keith Bagwell (Delilah); sister, Pam Locklear (John); sisters-in-law, Karen Bagwell and Lizette Bagwell, all of Rome, Georgia. She is also survived by her two daughters and son-in-law, Tracy and Monty Bennett, and Lorie Vest; her pride and joy grandsons, Chandler Vest (Rachel), Landon Vest (Erin), Mason and Haleigh Bennett, Myles and Annabelle Bennett; her precious great-grandchildren, Ella, Addi, and Lakelynn Vest, Woods, Ridge, and Meadow Bennett; son-in-law, Barry Vest; and several nieces and nephews.

In her healthy years, Vickie had a green thumb. She was known for her beautiful rose garden. She loved anything thrifting and having yard sales just to talk to people. Vickie graduated from Model High School Class of 1967, which made her very proud. She was a member of Sherwood Forest Baptist Church.

The family would like to thank The Oaks of Fairmount and Spirit Hospice for taking care of their precious momma.

A gathering of friends will be held on Monday, March 2, 2026, from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home.

Chad Edward Moore Sr., 42, of Billings, Montana, formerly of Calhoun, Georgia, passed away on Sunday, February 22, 2026. He was born in Seymour, Indiana, on March 29, 1983, to Fawn Branum and the late Louis Moore. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his brother, Greg Moore, and his grandparents, Elvie and Lucille Moore, Deanna Jones.

He is survived by his wife, Kendra Moore; mother and stepfather, Darrell and Fawn Branum; son, Chad Moore Jr; daughters, Sasha Moore, Ezmay Moore, Mavis Fawn Moore; stepchildren, Jasmine, Orion, Carter, Kamrin; brothers, Leon Moore, Tyler Branum, Travis Branum; sister, Casey Wakefield; granddaughter, Athena Moore-Knutson; grandfather, Bill Biehle; best friend, Dennis Fournier. A host of nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive.

Chad was a wonderful person and was loved by many. He had a great sense of humor and was quick to make others laugh. He had a gift to troubleshoot and repair almost anything mechanical; vehicles, motorcycles, four-wheelers. In 2001, he graduated from Jennings County High Scool in North Vernon, IN as well as from the Southeastern Career Center in Versailles, IN from their Welding program. In 2014, he started Moore Services, a handyman business, in Billings, MT which he owned and operated for nearly 10 years. He took pride in his work and strived to please his customers. He loved being outdoors rather for work or pleasure. He much enjoyed fishing and camping. He will truly be missed by many.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, February 28, 2026, from 12:00 Noon until 1:00 PM at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 28, 2026, at 1:00 PM from the chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home with Rev. Frank Bramlett officiating.

On Sunday, February 22nd, Lois Brown Thompson died after several years of declining health. She leaves behind a legacy of kindness and dedication to her faith and family.

She was preceded in death by her son, Mark R. Thompson and husband Charles R. Thompson. Her parents, Mattie Sue and Robert D. Brown, Siblings: Thomas Lee Brown (infant), Edward Lamar Brown, Louise B. Causby (Steed), Arnold Gerald Brown and Mildred B. Hendrix (Walter), Peggy H. Brown, Charle’s brother, Lawrence Thompson (Dot). Surviving are her brother, Roland D. Brown and their Sister-in-Law, Wandal O. Brown, of Calhoun. Also surviving are nephews, nieces, great and great-great, life-long friends, neighbors, including her special friends, Carol and Bob Cone with their family.

After working in Brunswick, GA during WWII, Lois’ family settled in Gordon County as longtime residents. Lois graduated from Bellwood High School. She went to work at Lockheed shortly after high school and met Charles. Lois and Charles married, making their home in Smyrna for many years. Both retired from Lockheed in Marietta after long successful careers. After retiring, she and Charles hit the road traveling throughout the United States. They had years of enjoyment and adventures together traveling with their Airstream camper while making new friends. Lois was active with her community, Cumberland United Methodist Church, Lockheed Retirement group and Top of GA Airstream club. She was happiest when busy, traveling, visiting with friends and family, sipping her signature cup of coffee and enjoying long walks. Over the years, Lois' generosity has benefited organizations, families, and her church communities. She leaves us with a kind and humble heart that sets a standard for all to aspire.

The family would like to thank The Fountains of Calhoun, The Spires at Berry College, Home Instead (Rome) and Willowbrook Hospice for their care, comfort and support of Lois over these past few years.

Visitation will be held Thursday, February 26, 2026, at 5:00p – 8:00p, Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home, 705 Old Red Bud Road, Calhoun, GA 30701

Entombment will be held Friday, February 27, 2026, beginning at 1:00 pm and closing prayer at 1:30 pm at Georgia Memorial Park, Mausoleum, 2000 Cobb Pkwy SE, Marietta, GA 30060.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, William “Chuck” (Cleo) Stamey, John (Faye) Stamey, Ray (Lena Mae) Stamey, Freeda Fowler, and Hazel Stamey; daughter, Sara Yvonne Muse; grandchildren, Tattum Webb and Colby Miller.

Louise was fondly known to her family as Mama, Granny, and Aunt Si. She was loved more than she could ever have truly known. Most important to her was her love and devotion to her Lord and Savior. She served and trusted Him to the end. Her greatest desire is for her family and loved ones to meet her in Heaven. She prayed daily for this and witnessed to others every chance she could.

Louise was the most hardworking woman you’ll ever meet. She took pride in growing and sharing her garden. She had a yard full of beautiful flowers and loved to show them off. She raised chickens and shared eggs with anyone that came by. Giving to others made her heart happy. She loved fishing, camping, and being outside. After her love for the Lord, the most important thing to her was her family and spending time with them. Whether it be working or having fun, she just wanted to be with us and love on us!

The family will receive friends on Monday, February 23, 2026, from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM and Tuesday, February 24, 2026, from 12:00 Noon until 2:00 PM at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, February 24, 2026, at 2:00 PM from the chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home with Rev. Dwaine Shadix and Rev. Bill Tatum officiating. C**t Chambers and Tyler Reynolds will be in charge of music. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery. Pallbearers serving are Sam Beasley, Dustin Webb, C**t Chambers, Cameron Patterson, Jody Hyde, Dylan Hyde, and Dwayne Muse.

He opened the doors to his very own funeral home at the intersection of College Street and what is now known as Old Red Bud Road.
