Starting tonight!
Trauma Center Trauma Sensitive Yoga (TCTSY) is an empirically validated, clinical intervention for complex trauma or chronic, treatment resistant Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, however you don’t have to have a history with trauma to benefit from it. With this approach, the power is within the individual, not the facilitator. TCTSY provides opportunities for participants to restore their connection between their mind and their body, and to cultivate a sense of agency that is often compromised as a result of trauma. The methodology is based on the central components of trauma theory, attachment theory, neuroscience, and hatha yoga, with an emphasis on body-based yoga forms and breathing practices. The focus through TCTSY is on the internal experiences of the participant, what the form feels like rather than looks like, or interception. Participants have opportunities to make choices on how to move their bodies based on their felt sensations. TCTSY has been supported by more than 10 original, peer-reviewed studies, and many more independent analyses.
