Izard Regional Hospital will be hosting a Community Heroes Health Fair and we are looking for vendors to join us!

📅 April 25, 2026
⏰ 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM
📍 Izard Regional Hospital
61 Grasse St
Calico Rock, AR

This event will bring together our community and local heroes for a day focused on health, Summer safety, and community connection.

🌭 Free Hot Dogs will be served by the hospital
💊 Izard County Sheriff’s Department Drug Take-Back Program
(Drug take-back will run 10 AM – 2 PM)

🐝BEE 🐝Award Recipient – Thelma Owens

IRH is proud to recognize Thelma Owens as our BEE (Being Extraordinary Everyday) Award recipient. Thelma began her nursing career in 1977 as an LPN and continued her education to become an RN, BSN, Midwife, Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner, and a Family Nurse Practitioner.

Born and raised in Mountain View, Thelma has spent her career caring for the community she loves. She has been married to her husband Jimmy for 50 years and they have one son, Jeremy.

One of her favorite memories from working in the ER was when a patient told her, “I love coming here because you always greet me with a smile and make me feel comfortable.”

❤️Her guiding words are: “Love thy neighbor as thyself AND a patient should always come first.” ❤️

Thank you, Thelma, for your many years of compassion, dedication, and service to our community. 💙

We would like to welcome Melissa Hodge to the team at Izard Regional Hospital! 🏥

Melissa is a Clinical Lab Scientist who will be working in our hospital lab as PNR. She has been working in the laboratory field since 2003, bringing years of experience and knowledge with her.

Melissa is married and has four grown children and four grandchildren. In her free time, she enjoys reading, traveling, crocheting, and flipping houses with her husband.

A very special memory for Melissa and her husband is when they served at an orphanage in Texarkana, and that’s where they got 2 of their 4 children.

One of Melissa’s favorite Bible verses is Romans 8:28 — “And we know that all things God works for good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.

We are excited to have Melissa join our team and look forward to the compassion and experience she brings to our lab. Please help us welcome her to Izard Regional Hospital! ❤️🏥

Izard Regional Hospital is currently hiring Patient Access Clerks. We have full-time and part-time positions available.

This position is responsible for registering patients, answering phones, assisting visitors, and ensuring patient information is accurate and confidential while providing excellent customer service.

Pay: Competitive

Requirements:
• High school diploma or GED
• Healthcare or customer service experience preferred
• Strong communication and computer skills

Please help us give a warm welcome to Jessie Larson, RN, one of our newest additions to Izard Regional Hospital!

Jessie has been happily married for 20 years and is a proud mom of three. Born and raised in Australia, she brings with her a beautiful accent, a caring heart, and a passion for serving others. She graduated from the Ozarka RN nursing program last year and has already proven that nursing is exactly where she’s meant to be!

At home, Jessie enjoys spends time with her family, playing the piano, she raises sheep and also has a dog named Wombat. 🐑🎹🐶

Her motto is:
“Be kind. It may be another day of work for nurses, but for the patient, it could be the worst day of their life.”

We are so thankful she loves working here, and we are even more thankful to have her as part of the IRH team. Welcome to the family, Jessie! ❤️
