Gentle exercise is one of the best ways to combat pregnancy-related back pain. Here are a few to get you started, but make sure you get cleared by our team before doing anything new!

Core Activation: Lie on your back with your knees toward the ceiling. Press your back against the floor by bracing your ab muscles. You can also perform this exercise while sitting in a chair or on your hands and knees. Check with your PT for more guidance.

Cat-Cow: Start on your hands and knees. As you inhale, gently lift your tailbone and chest while letting your belly sink (cow pose). On the exhale, round your spine, drop your head, and tuck your tailbone (cat pose). Switch fluidly between both postures.

Bird-Dog: Start on your hands and knees with a neutral spine. Slowly extend your left leg while lifting it off the floor. At the same time, extend and lift your right hand. Make sure to keep your shoulders and hips parallel to the floor.
