Wellbridge Addiction Treatment & Research

Wellbridge Addiction Treatment & Research Everyone who seeks our help deserves to overcome addiction & enjoy a life of sustained recovery. Wellbridge is an LGBTQIA+ friendly organization.

We treat patients 18 years and older with drug and alcohol addictions, including co-occurring disorders. Our personalized approach to care addresses the needs of individuals who are entering treatment for the first time and those who have been through rehab before and are seeking a more sustainable path to long-term recovery. We recognize that the family suffers alongside the patient and integrate treatment and support programs for the family.

Wellbridge was honored to take part in the Veterans Health Alliance of Long Island's symposium at Adelphi University, “A Veteran’s Journey to Recovery through Awareness and Resilience.”

Our VP of Organizational Development, Steve Chassman, LCSW, CASAC, proudly presented “Veterans, Families, and the Road to Wellness,” highlighting the importance of support, resilience, and accessible care for those who have served.

We are grateful to stand alongside so many organizations dedicated to helping veterans and their families build healthier futures.

At Wellbridge, we’re proud to recognize and celebrate Creative Arts Therapy Week 2026 🎨

Every patient engages in Art Psychotherapy, creating space to explore the subconscious, process trauma, and better understand the connection to substance use. Through groups like Exploring Trauma Through Clay, Somatic Art Therapy, Nature-Based Art Making, and Journaling, patients rediscover creativity, reconnect with their inner selves, and find new ways to express what words often can’t.

Creative Arts Therapy is a powerful, evidence-based approach that supports healing of the mind, body, and spirit—and we’re grateful for the clinicians who bring this work to life every day.

Yesterday we held another Scoop for Recovery, one of our favorite monthly traditions on campus. During this event, our COO, Steve Wicke, and Co-Founder, Andrew Drazan, serve ice cream to both patients and staff as a chance for everyone to pause, connect, and enjoy a moment together.

Recovery is about more than clinical work—it’s also about building community, creating positive experiences, and learning how to have fun in healthy ways. Events like Scoop for Recovery give our patients and team members an opportunity to step away from their daily routines, share a laugh, and enjoy the simple things together.

At Wellbridge, we believe moments of connection like these are an important part of the recovery journey.

March is National Social Work Month, and all of us at Wellbridge want to recognize the incredible social workers who serve our communities every day. 💙

Across hospitals, schools, treatment centers, courts, and community organizations, social workers are on the front lines—advocating for individuals and families, helping people navigate complex systems, and offering compassion during some of life’s most difficult moments.

At Wellbridge, we’re proud to work alongside an extraordinary team of social workers whose dedication to meeting people where they are and guiding them toward recovery makes a lasting impact on the lives of those we serve.

This month, we thank the social workers on our team and across the country for the difference they make every single day.

Wellbridge Addiction Treatment and Research was proud to participate in the Spring 2026 Health & Wellness Resource Fair hosted by Stony Brook University for Prevention and Outreach.

Our Senior Outreach Representative, Paul Gillen, spent the afternoon connecting with students and employees sharing information about addiction, mental health, and the treatment resources available through Wellbridge.

Events like this help ensure that students know where to turn for support and reinforce the importance of collaboration between campus partners and community providers. Thank you to Stony Brook University Student Affairs for the invitation and for your continued commitment to student health and wellness.

In recognition of National Social Work Month, Wellbridge Addiction Treatment & Research is proud to highlight opportunities to give back and inspire the next generation of helping professionals.

Last week, our Director of Access Ashley Wali, had the opportunity to present for the third time at the 5th Annual EMS Talks at East Middle School in Brentwood, New York.

Ashley shared her journey into social work, reflecting on the challenges, lessons, and experiences that led her to a career supporting individuals with mental health and substance use disorders. She also introduced students to the many career pathways within social work and emphasized the importance of timely access to treatment for those struggling with addiction.

We’re grateful to East Middle School for inviting us to be part of this important conversation and for creating space that encourages students to explore meaningful career paths while giving back to their communities.

Last week, the team at Wellbridge Addiction Treatment & Research had the pleasure of co-sponsoring Professional Wellness Day in Newtown alongside our partners at Lantana Recovery and Newtown Parent Connection, Inc.—a meaningful event focused on connection, reflection, and supporting the wellbeing of those working in behavioral health and recovery.

We’re grateful to our panelists—Rafael Sanchez, Steve Chassman, and Karen Hennessey—for sharing their honest perspectives on the current landscape of substance use treatment and the importance of collaboration in supporting individuals and families impacted by addiction.

The day also provided opportunities to recharge, with wellness offerings including massages, dry needling, Pilates, and a grounding breathwork session following the panel.

A heartfelt thank you to Newtown Parent Connection for hosting, and to Edward Waddington and Kevin Carolan for making this special day possible.

We’re grateful to be part of such a committed and compassionate community.

Saturday's alumni gathering "Ascending: The Inner Work of Recovery" was nothing short of beautiful 💙

We were honored to share space with Nicole Marrero, who led a deeply intentional embodied experience centered on nervous system regulation, emotional awareness, and rebuilding self-trust. Through breathwork, reflection, and gentle invitations to turn inward, our alumni showed up with such openness and courage.

We then softened even deeper into restoration with Isabel Bareiss, Holistic Healer | Founder & Owner of Isa Rising LLC, who guided a powerful sound bath and meditation. The room was filled with stillness, healing energy, and genuine connection.

A heartfelt thank you to Ascendant New York for your beautiful space and warm hospitality. We are so grateful for the partnership and community that makes days like this possible.

Most importantly, thank you to our incredible alumni. The way you support one another, hold space without judgment, and continue choosing growth is inspiring. Your willingness to be present and vulnerable is what makes these experiences so meaningful.
