Science class was in session in our Gardens memory care neighborhood! 🌋🔬 Residents had a great time during a fun science experiment led by Andrea, who showed everyone how to create a volcano using baking soda, vinegar, food coloring, and other ingredients. Everyone watched with excitement as the "volcano" began to fizz and bubble—then suddenly bubbled over! The looks of surprise and delight were absolutely priceless!

Activities like this bring so many benefits for older adults—they spark curiosity, engage the mind, and create moments of wonder that remind us learning never stops

Residents had a wonderful time during their Creative Art program! 🍀🎨🖌️💚 To get ready for St. Patrick's Day, they painted shamrocks and had so much fun creating together. Each resident made their shamrock unique with their own colors and style—some went with classic green, while others added a colorful twist.

Painting supports self-expression, helps improve fine motor skills, and encourages social connection as residents work side by side. It's also a relaxing way to boost mood and build confidence.

Love was in bloom last week at AlmaVia of Camarillo! 💐❤️🌷🌸💕

Residents enjoyed a beautiful Valentine's Day Flower Bar where they had the opportunity to select their favorite blooms, mix and match colors, and create their own custom floral arrangements.

For older adults, arranging flowers engages fine motor skills, sparks creativity, and provides a calming sensory experience through beautiful colors and lovely fragrances. There's also something deeply satisfying about making something with your own hands and seeing it come together petal by petal. Add in the joy of doing it alongside friends on Valentine's Day, and you have an afternoon that feeds the soul as much as it delights the senses.

Among some of the sights they took in were the sports park, rows of growing crops, bright lemon trees, and the stunning green mountains near Camarillo Springs. The views were absolutely breathtaking—but honestly, the smiles and conversations along the way were even better!

Super Bowl Sunday was a touchdown at AlmaVia of Camarillo! 🏈🎉🏈🎉🏈🎉

Residents and team members enjoyed every moment of the big game celebration this past weekend. With delicious snacks like chicken tenders, cheesy nachos, buttery popcorn, fun cupcakes, and refreshing soda, it was a winning (and delicious!) party no matter which team you were rooting for.

Residents had a wonderful visit from one of their furry friends at Love on a Leash this week! 🐶🐾🐕 They enjoyed meeting the friendly pup, saying hello, and getting lots of pets as it spent time with each visitor.

Pet therapy visits like this offer incredible benefits for older adults. Spending time with animals has been shown to lower stress, reduce blood pressure, and brighten the day in ways that are hard to put into words. Wet noses and wagging tails really are the best medicine!
