Well, there ya have it.

To be sure, the Dept. of Ed, the Office of Special Education and Rehabilitative Services (OSERS), the Office of Special Education Programs (OSEP) and the Rehabilitative Services Administration (RSA) have their critics. But, it's mostly ... as far as I can tell/remember ... because they're not doing enough.

Now, they can't do anything.

This will just eliminate an avenue for students and their families to fight for the education, services, and supports they're entitle to ... to say nothing about their rights.

Multiple sources tell NPR that, as part of the Trump administration's latest reduction-in-force, the U.S. Department of Education has gutted the office that handles special education.

MISSING PERSON UPDATE: Nancy David has been located and is safe.

The Simi Valley Police Department is seeking the public’s help in locating Nancy David, a 62-year-old female with special needs. Nancy was last seen in the area near Berylwood Park located at 1955 Bridget Ave. shortly after 10:00 am after leaving for a walk. Nancy is 5’2”, weighs 125 pounds, and was wearing a light-colored shirt, black pants, black sneakers, and glasses.

California is #3, behind Alaska and Nevada in terms of acreage, most I'd judge to be in rural communities.

Last year the nationwide total was $253 million, barely a blip in the overall federal budget, but a crucial funding source for rural communities that have limited options for raising revenue.
