Every person who walks through our doors brings their own story, their own strengths, and their own way of experiencing the world.

There is no “typical” client here — just real people with real needs, each deserving of care that fits who they are.

We don’t assume your needs based on your age or your diagnosis.
We listen.
We attune.
We shape therapy around you — your pace, your experiences, and your goals.

Because every person is different.
And your care should be, too.

✨ Who We Are: A Different Kind of Therapy Practice

Not all therapy is the same.
Our work is grounded in modern neuroscience, trauma research, and deep respect for the body’s natural ability to heal.

We believe therapy should be:
🧠 Brain-informed — understanding how trauma impacts memory, emotions, and the nervous system.
💛 Body-aware — because healing isn’t just cognitive; it’s physiological.
🌱 Holistic and collaborative — honoring each client as the expert of their own experience.
🧩 Integrative — combining EMDR, Brainspotting, Ego State work, CBT/DBT, and somatic approaches so clients get what actually works for them.
🫶 Compassionate and non-pathologizing — symptoms aren’t “problems,” they’re adaptations.

In our practice, therapy isn’t about forcing change or talking in circles.
It’s about helping your nervous system feel safe enough to shift, heal, and grow.

If you’ve tried therapy before and felt like something was missing—you’re not alone.
We’re here to offer a modern, trauma-informed approach that goes deeper than coping and creates space for real transformation.

You can understand your trauma and still feel stuck. That’s because trauma lives in the nervous system—not just the mind. 🧠

Even when we intellectually know what happened, the body can hold onto stress, tension, and fear. This is why talk therapy alone sometimes isn’t enough. Healing often requires addressing both the mind and the body.

Here are four reasons talking alone might not fully heal:

1️⃣ Trauma is stored in the body, not just the mind.
Your nervous system can stay on high alert even when your mind knows you’re safe. Symptoms like anxiety, tension, or panic are often stored physically.

2️⃣ Emotional responses can feel overwhelming
Some feelings are too intense to process with words alone. Without body-based approaches, it’s easy to get stuck in rumination or avoidance.

3️⃣ Old patterns are neurologically embedded
Trauma shapes automatic brain and body responses. Changing these patterns often requires techniques that retrain your nervous system, not just your thoughts.

4️⃣ Talking alone may focus on managing symptoms instead of healing.
Talking can help you understand and manage symptoms—but real healing often comes from addressing the root of trauma in both mind and body to help reduce the need for symptom management.

✨ Healing works best when we combine understanding with nervous system regulation, somatic work, and evidence-based trauma processing.

When a community experiences a loss, it is normal to feel uneasy, overwhelmed, or heartbroken, even if you did not know the person closely.

Community grief—or collective grief—is a shared experience that ripples through schools, neighborhoods, and towns. Grief can feel incredibly isolating, but community allows us to bear witness to each other's pain. Together, we can create a space for healing, sharing stories, and honoring memories. We don't have to carry this alone.

As we hold this loss together, we also hold deep respect for the family and loved ones who are hurting most. May we move gently, speak softly, and create space for their grief—simply standing alongside them in compassion.

Screens calm children fast. One video, one game, one scroll, and the stress melts away. For a tired or overwhelmed child, that relief feels instant and powerful.

The problem is what comes after. The brain gets used to fast rewards. Real life moves slower. Homework, meals, conversation, and play can start to feel boring, irritating, or overwhelming. When screens stop, emotions often surge. Children may become restless, angry, tearful, or shut down. This is not bad behaviour. It is a nervous system struggling to cope without quick comfort.

This pattern shows up in many children and young people. It is common in children with anxiety, ADHD, ASD, sensory sensitivities, or emotional regulation difficulties. It also affects children who spend all day holding it together and using their energy to cope. Their behaviour is communication, not defiance.

What helps is not blame or constant battles over screen time. Children need connection, movement, outdoor time, creativity, and shared moments with calm adults. Slower activities help the brain reset and relearn how to cope with everyday life.

When adults understand this, responses change. Less punishment. More support. Less conflict. More connection.

✨Morgan is a Certified Women’s Mental Health Specialist and is able to offer specialized support through each unique journey in pregnancy and postpartum.

3 take aways:
✨ Research shows that getting mental health support during pregnancy can lower the risk of postpartum anxiety and depression, with some studies reporting up to a 70–80% reduction in symptoms compared to no support.

✨Often, only postpartum depression is recognized, but perinatal mood and anxiety disorders can arise at any point during pregnancy and up to two years postpartum.

✨The primary hormone that helps stimulate contractions during labor is oxytocin. Feeling safe, calm, and supported encourages oxytocin production, while fear, stress, or anxiety can inhibit it and may slow labor.
