Hospice of Guernsey Hospice of Guernsey provides compassionate care for people facing a life-limiting illness or injury, Support is provided to the person’s loved ones as well.

Hospice provides quality, compassionate care for people facing a life-limiting illness. Hospice and palliative care involves a team-oriented approach to expert medical care, pain management, and emotional and spiritual support that is specially tailored to each person’s needs and wishes. The focus of hospice relies on the belief that each of us has the right to die pain-free and with dignity, and that our loved ones will receive the necessary support to allow us to do so. Hospice focuses on caring, not curing and, in most cases, care is provided in the person’s home. Hospice care also is provided in nursing homes and independent living facilities. Hospice services are available to patients of any age, religion, race, or illness. Hospice care is covered under Medicare, Medicaid, and most private insurance plans. Hospice of Guernsey, Inc. receives United Way assistance as well as donations and fundraising events to help patients who have no source of payment. No one is refused services due to the inability to pay. The care hospice provides brings hope to help people live life as fully as possible. It offers dignity when there is not a cure, and it surrounds families with love during one of life’s most challenging times.

We had the pleasure of celebrating some special "Friends of Hospice" last week. To everyone who has supported our mission throughout our last years, Thank You just doesn't even begin to cover it. Because of your support, thousands of patients and their loved ones have received care and support during one of the most difficult times. May God bless everyone this holiday season and into the new year.

The Hospice of Guernsey Memorial Trees are up in Guernsey, Noble, and western Belmont counties. Hundreds of angels cover these trees in honor of loved ones. The handmade ornaments can be purchased at each of the tree locations or by calling 740-432-7440. A special thank you to all those who are hosting our trees, Peoples Bank, Mr. Lee's, Walton Home Assisted Living, Wesbanco, and Farmers and Merchants Bank.

Yesterday was such a special day. We were so blessed to have so many community partners and friends stop by to celebrate Hospice month and our 40th anniversary. For our supporters who were unable to attend, we are so thankful for all that you have done to help us care for terminally ill and their families over the past years.

We hope to see everyone Monday to celebrate 40 years of caring for local patients and their loved ones.
