BILH’s inaugural Sustainability Summit brought colleagues together across the system to celebrate and strengthen our commitment to environmental stewardship. 🌱

Congratulations to Samson Ferm, MD from Mount Auburn Gastroenterology — who was recognized as a Jane Matlaw Environmental Champion Awardee for surveying staff to assess and increase sustainability awareness in Endoscopy.

Through this work, Dr. Ferm found 96% support for waste reduction and identified education as the main barrier (83%), while mentoring colleagues and developing initiatives to reduce red bag waste and integrate sustainability into clinical practice.

Amanda works for BILH Primary Care at Mount Auburn and has been with the hospital since she started her residency 13 years ago.
