Every day, The Cambridge Homes honors all those residents who served their country every day, and especially on Veteran’s Day. We thank you for service. Today’s CommuniTea with the Friends of The Cambridge Homes included a special Veteran’s Day performance and community-sing with Arlington High School’s acapella group Volunteer Voices. These dedicated students visited on their day off from school to honor the day.

Today was truly special. The Cambridge Homes is honored to be the site for an extraordinary show featuring the art of resident artists Adnan Onart and Carol O’Neill. The installation, entitled “Time After Time: Re-generations” explores the cycles of life and how art bears witness to the comings and goings of many generations. As a featured exhibit of the 30th annual Boston Turkish Festival, we welcome visitors to come and experience this outstanding show (daily, mid-day to 6pm).

One of the most important days on the TCH calendar is the day our number one resident, Eugene the turtle, goes to the vet for his annual check-up. He traveled in his carrier and was the main attraction in the waiting room. After a thorough examination, Dr Avery said our darling boy is in very good health, but he’s a little chubby. That just means there’s more of him to love!

What a beautiful day to visit the North End! We started at the Paul Revere House for a guided tour - as much as we thought we knew, we all learned something new. Then we popped down the street to Ristorante Limoncello for a wonderful North End Italian luncheon. First bite is for Facebook! Yum! A truly wonderful trip enjoyed by all.

The TCH Singers - led by Barbad Bakan (a Berklee College of Music graduate) gather to sing songs of the 40s, 50s, and 60s, including showtimes and other genres… all depending on the requests of the group. Music is unique in engaging many areas of the brain, and singing engages the body’s core and supports breath control. But music for music’s sake is all that’s ever necessary. “I don’t sing because I’m happy, I’m happy because I sing!”

Today was a great day to learn more about “The Art of the Automobile” with Steve Edson and explore a vintage station wagon… is 1988 really vintage now?! look at all the ashtrays in the car! no seatbelts necessary for the extra fold down seat in the back?!
