On this Christmas Eve, our hearts are truly overflowing with gratitude. Autumn Winds’ very first Adopt-a-Senior program has reminded us just how powerful kindness and community can be. We have been so blessed to meet so many new neighbors who chose to show up for our residents in such a meaningful way.

With every package that arrived, something special happened — faces lit up, smiles softened, and for a moment, our residents glowed with youthful joy and wonder. Each delivery was a reminder that they are remembered, valued, and deeply cared for. These moments are gifts we will never forget.

We want to extend a very special and heartfelt thank you to Koshkonong Solar for choosing to donate gifts to every one of our residents. Your generosity ensured that no one was left out and that each resident felt equally loved and included. That kind of thoughtfulness captures the true spirit of the season.

Thank you to everyone who participated and helped make this Christmas so special. You didn’t just give gifts — you created moments of connection, warmth, and joy that will stay with our residents long after the holidays. ❤️

🌧️ A Sweet Blessing for Tomorrow Morning! 🍩💛

At Autumn Winds, we have a special resident whose highlight every week is attending church services and bringing home donuts to share. With tonight’s weather and safety concerns, she won’t be able to attend tomorrow—and she was a little disappointed about missing her weekly tradition.

But tonight, our amazing community stepped in! 💛

A HUGE thank-you to Brookie’s Sweets & Treats Boutique of Fort Atkinson for coming to the rescue and donating a festive Sunday-morning donut treat for our residents & staff. 🍩✨

Your kindness brightened her evening and gave everyone something sweet to look forward to tomorrow morning. Supporting local businesses and spreading joy—this is what small-town community is all about. 🤍

A heartfelt thank you to Cracker Barrel Old Country Store and Hy-Vee for catering our delicious Thanksgiving meal this year. Our residents enjoyed a fancy holiday dinner served on our beautiful holiday china, surrounded by festive décor and the cozy spirit of the season.

It was a warm, memorable evening filled with gratitude, good food, and great company — and we’re excited to share a few photos of our holiday decorations that helped make it even more special.

✨First Snow of the Season at Autumn Winds! ✨

Our home felt a little extra magical today as the first snow began to fall. The season of gathering by the windows with warm drinks, sharing stories of winters past and taking in the peaceful beauty of the season is upon us!

As much as we love the charm of winter, this time of year also brings important cold-weather safety concerns for older adults. Slippery walkways, cold temperatures, and reduced daylight can all pose risks — but with preparation and awareness, winter can remain safe and enjoyable.

A few gentle reminders for keeping seniors safe this season:
🧣 Dress in warm layers, including hats and gloves
🚶‍♂️ Be cautious of icy sidewalks, driveways, and stairs
🍲 Enjoy warm meals and plenty of hydration
🔥 Maintain steady, safe indoor temperatures
💊 Keep medications, winter essentials, and transportation plans ready

Originally from Long Island, New York, Michelle began her healthcare journey 20 years ago, when she became a Certified Nursing Assistant. Her passion for helping others quickly grew into a lifelong calling — to serve individuals with dignity & compassion.

Over the years, Michelle has gained extensive experience caring for people in all stages of life and across a variety of healthcare settings. She is a Certified Medical Administrative Assistant (CMAA) through the National Healthcareer Association, a proud member of the Wisconsin Respite Registry, and holds an Associate of Science in Healthcare Administration.

Now serving as Interim Administrator at Autumn Winds Assisted Living, Michelle is dedicated to upholding the highest standards of compliance, quality assurance, and person-centered care. Her leadership is rooted in empathy, teamwork, and the belief that every resident deserves to feel at home and truly cared for.

Outside of her professional role, Michelle is a proud wife and mother of three, balancing her dedication to healthcare with a deep love for family. She believes in “Strength for today, and Hope for tomorrow” — a reflection of the heart she brings to both her work and her life.
