Have a winter blanket and water in your car if you are out at all. Have a plan for keeping warm if you were to lose power. Keep a buddy system and a way to check in, and how often. This is so that should you not be able to tell someone something is wrong, there is a set timeframe they should expect and update, then if you didn't make it they arrange for someone to check in on you.

❄️ **Warming Centers Update for Our Area**

If you are in immediate need of warmth, the Ouachita County Sheriff’s Office lobby and the Camden Police Department lobby are open and available for anyone who needs a safe place to warm up.

Radio Works spoke with Camden Mayor Charlotte Young and Ouachita County Judge Robert McAdoo about expanding warming options, including churches and other community locations.

They will be meeting with community leaders Tuesday to work on additional warming centers and more options for those impacted by the cold.
