Deja Yu

Deja Yu Our retreat is a refuge for those seeking nature and a conscious disconnect from technology. But for now, watch us build and start up!

Deja Yu

Deja Yu is here to provide you an opportunity to reconnect with your soul. We value holistic health, meditation, self-connection and self-love. We believe that nature is the earth's greatest tool for coming back to yourself and to disconnect from society, for even just a little bit is medicine for the spirit. Here at Deja Yu, we are working hard to create such an Oasis with our own hands. We would love to share our journey of enlightenment and hard work with you in hopes that it inspires self-reflection. We are putting our hearts into creating a small retreat center for those who wish to get away from it all.

Our Bear cabin was feeling a little left out after the Mushroom cabin had a its photoshoot. So Daydream Photography came back to snag some. While I continue to make finished touches to the interior see the sexy shots Liz recently caught of it's exterior!

(Insert sexy whistle and a "Bow Chicka Wow Wow")

Our space had a little photoshoot with Daydream Photography 🥰💓💖They came out so awesome! I just love them.

Our final major project for this cabin is DONE!

Throw on some skirting and this baby is almost ready to go. It's amazing how complete it can look when you start to get the final touches finished.

Now this cabin just needs to wait for some more funding to cover final decorations and the solar/battery system! I think she will be ready for a stay or two before we have to shut it down for winter. (Not pictured: Brad cutting all the metal because I hate to do it)

I could not wait to share this finished project!

Throw together an extra piece of slab wood with some stone and now we this pretty cool coffee table, if I do say so myself.

I continue to try to add extra touches to make each space feel unique. And I am in love with this piece.

We are getting closer to opening the doors for guests at the Bear cabin. With another project complete there is now space to sit back, relax and enjoy the warmth of the fire on these cooler nights!

Back to Cabin 1!

We built a picnic table! Not a super hard project unless you are trying to do it all on your own. Then you'll need to reach out for help.

I'm fairly confident that this table weighs about 300 lbs. But we built it for the big boys.

We are getting SO CLOSE to having this Bear cabin up and ready for guests!

These walls complete the porch project! Not only will they prevent you from randomly falling off the porch but they look great! We expect our next project to be sheet metal around the bottom.

We continue progress on our Bear cabin. As deer fly season winds down it's important to have an outside place to retreat while you are retreating!

This cute little porch turned out just as I hoped. Just as big as the porch on the other cabins means it comfortably seats two lounge chairs and some extra items to keep out of the rain.

We are literally 2-3 projects away from opening this cabin for guests!

Our Bear cabin just got a facelift!

When we replaced the barn doors with a standard front door and extra plywood our colored were uneven. So here was the fix! Faux stone and a little elbow grease and this cabin is looking pretty darn sexy.

Making room for extra guests — our Bear Cabin just got cozier with a pull-out loveseat!

It’s not just a couch, it pulls out when things get serious. Ideal for surprise visitors or when someone’s snoring earns them a one-way ticket out of the queen bed.

A Porch!

Slowly but surely we are making progress on the 2nd rentable cabin. We had heard that this composite decking would just be thrown away where it would eventually find itself in the Ocean. But NOT TODAY.

With a little bit of elbow grease, some heavy duty cleaner and composite decking stain, it's like brand new! Recycling for the win.
