C. Lowell “Bud” Olson, age 78 of Dallas, died January 26, 2026, at Mayo Clinic Health System in Eau Claire following two major strokes. Bud was born on June 24, 1947, in Amery, WI to Curtiss and Florence (Siebrecht) Olson. Bud and his five younger siblings grew up on a dairy farm near Little Falls where the daily routine of chores and living close to the land set the tone for Bud’s life. Bud graduated from Amery High School in 1965 and was drafted into the Army the following year, eventually being deployed to Vietnam. Upon returning stateside in 1968, he worked for Caterpillar in Peoria, Ill., then Friday Canning Company and trucking and dispatching at Doboy Feeds in New Richmond, all while helping out his dad and brothers at home when he could. In 1978, he came back to the home farm for good - or so he thought. In 1988, a neighbor introduced Bud to a friend of his that just happened to live on a dairy farm in the next county over. Her name was Pat Berg, and her extroverted nature complemented Bud’s shy and unassuming manner well. After striking up a friendship over things in common and their shared Lutheran faith, he married her on her family’s farm a couple of miles east of Dallas on August 12, 1989. Bud and Pat took over her family farm and welcomed their son, Samuel John, on July 31, 1991. Together they built a life milking cows, growing crops, going to church, and raising Sam with the Christian values that they held dear. Sam grew up and married his college sweetheart, Brittany Statz, in 2016, which allowed Bud and Pat to mostly retire from farming. Living on the farm following retirement from milking cows allowed Bud to help out when and where he could on the farm. When Sam and Brittany finally gave Bud and Pat a grandchild in 2022, Bud wholeheartedly embraced being a grandpa to Titus, who he affectionately called P***y. Bud enjoyed farming and living a simple life close to the land, but his real pride and joy was his family. He was a gentle soul, and we will miss his quiet yet steadfast presence in our lives dearly.

Bud was preceded in death by his parents, Curtiss and Florence Olson; in-laws, Harold and Doris Berg; and brothers-in-law Mike Conlow, Mike Mikla, and Reynold Petersen. He is survived by his wife, Pat Olson; his son and daughter-in-law, Sam and Brittany Olson; grandson, Titus Olson; sisters, Kay Conlow of Surprise, AR,, Barb (Lonnie) Bendixen of Barnes, and Becky Mikla of Hammond; brothers, Craig and Chuck Olson of Amery; sister-in-law, Barbara Petersen of Dallas; and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, February 8 at 1:30 P.M. at Dallas Lutheran Church with Pastor Adam Klefstad presiding, followed by burial at the Dallas Cemetery with full military honors at a later date. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the church on Sunday. Rausch-Lundeen Funeral Homes is assisting the family with arrangements. The family would like to thank the emergency department at Mayo Clinic Health System in Barron and the critical care and neurology units at Mayo Clinic Health System in Eau Claire for their care following Bud’s strokes.

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Lorree Ellen Langman, 42, of Chetek, WI who passed away unexpectedly at her home on November 16, 2025 due to complications from childbirth. Lorree was born on March 26, 1983 in Chippewa Falls, WI to Fred and Kathy (Zwiefelhofer) Langman.
Lorree’s compassionate heart touched the lives of many. She had a special love for children and animals, always offering kindness and care. Her greatest joy in life came from becoming a mother to her beloved daughters, Ella, age 2 and Violet, welcomed just two weeks ago. Her “fur babies”—Luna, Frosty, Angel and Brookie—were cherished members of her family, filling her days with unconditional love and endless snuggles. Lorree worked many years at Bob’s Grill along with cleaning cabins at Shorewood. After graduating high school, she pursued her passion for caring for others by earning her Certified Nursing Assistant license, a milestone she achieved with the support of dear family friend, Judy. Lorree treasured the time she spent with Judy and her beloved fishing companion, Merrill. Lorree and Merrill are now reunited, no doubt casting lines together. Lorree dedicated herself to serving others in the Chetek area at Knapphaven, Iris Home Health Services and Atrium Health and Senior Living. Her nurturing nature extended into her own home; through her babysitting. She welcomed Tyler, Kylie, Remi and Gabe into her life, embracing them as an extension of her family. Lorree dedicated 12 years to the Girl Scouts, living their motto of kindness and respect to self, others and our world. She concluded her Girl Scout journey with a fond lifelong memory of a European trip and visit to the Girl Scout Chalet in Switzerland.
Lorree is survived by her partner, Gunner Asplund; children, Ella and Violet; parents, Fred and Kathy Langman; Gunner’s parents Ken and Tami Asplund; sister, Aimee (Brian) Barta and two nieces Chloe and Zoey; aunts and uncles, Jane Langman, Steve and Dawn Langman, Tom Langman, Joanne Austin, James and Marion Zwiefelhofer, Diane Satter, Linda Derks, and Barb and Rudy Edwards. She will be deeply missed by her numerous cousins, close family friends, Rosie Bear and the Moons, and many, many friends and neighbors. Lorree was preceded in death by her grandparents, Ray and Anna Langman; Frank and Ellen Zwiefelhofer; and uncle, Ted Derks.

Lorree will forever be remembered as a devoted mother and cherished auntie. Her soft heart, unwavering resilience, and protective love touched not only her family but all creatures great and small. Her pure heart, infectious laugh and love for the holidays will be missed at family gatherings.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, November 22nd from 11 am - 12 pm at the Rausch-Lundeen Funeral Home in Cameron, WI. There will be a Celebration of Life at Gilligan’s in Chetek immediately following the service at noon. Lorree’s love of the color purple ran deep so the family requests that you wear purple, if you can, to the services or celebration.
