Douglas E. Briggs, age 77, of rural Chetek, WI died Sunday, November 9th, 2025 at his home. He was born on October 29th, 1948 at Rice Lake, WI & was raised in the Dallas area. He was Baptized & Confirmed at Dallas Lutheran Church & graduated from Barron High School in 1967. On December 13th, 1969, he was married to Jean Wiltgen at New Scandinavia Lutheran Church in the Town of Maple Grove, rural Dallas. Doug dairy farmed his entire life but also enjoyed hunting, fishing & trap shooting in his spare time. He especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.
Doug was preceded in death by his parents, son: Darren & 1 niece. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his immediate family, Becky, Kord, Jonny, Kristen & Raelynn, brother: David Briggs & his family, as well as other relatives & friends.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 13th at Dallas Lutheran Church with Rev. Bruce Rimmereid officiating & interment following in the Dallas Cemetery. Visitation will be held for the hour prior to services at the church on Thursday. Arrangements are with Rausch-Lundeen Funeral Homes, Dallas & Cameron.

James A. “Jim” Ebner, age 95, of Cameron, WI passed away November 4, 2025 at his home, surrounded by family members. James was born November 2, 1930 in Rice Lake, WI to Henry and Susan (Thimmiesh) Ebner and grew up in Cameron. Jim’s parents relocated Ebner Box Inc. to Cameron in the late 20’s. Jim began working in the plant when he was a teenager, working with his dad on maintaining and designing machines to produce various products manufactured at the plant. In 1952, Jim was called to active duty and served in the Korean War. In 1954, he met Beverly Hammer at an Ebner reunion, where he was giving rides in his airplane. It must have been some flight, as they married on Aug. 25, 1956 and together they had eight children. Jim was very active within St. Peter’s Catholic Church, the American Legion Post 194 and was a member on the Village Board. As his children grew up, he became Pack 52 Cub Master and ran Cub Days at Camp Phillips. He was awarded the District Award of Merit, Silver Beaver, St. George Award, was inducted into the Order of the Arrow and went to Philmont and Wood Badge for advanced training. In addition to Scouting, Jim has been an active member for the Knights of Columbus Council 2137 for 75 years. He joined at a very young age with his father and enjoyed the charitable work, unity, fraternity and patriotism the organization provided. Jim also became a member of the Fourth Degree. As if Jim wasn’t busy enough, he was very active at the Barron County Museum selling tickets, helping restore displays, giving school tours at the Ebner Box Factory building, running the divider machine and showing patrons how the machine worked. The family business was sold in 1992. Jim enjoyed traveling with Bev, spending time with his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and winters in Texas. Jim also enjoyed spending time with his friends, church and playing cards at the Senior Center.
Surviving are his brothers and sister: Robert Ebner, Bud Ebner and Joan Rosenberger, his children: Sue (Jay) Schmoker of Oshkosh, Kurt (Daren Latham) of Minneapolis, MN, Karen Ebner of Rush City, MN, Lori (David) Williamson of Rockwall, TX, John (Heather Gavin) of Barron and Sandy (Mark) Magistad of Stillwater, MN., grandchildren: Jason (Kelly) Schmoker, Jeff (Jenn) Schmoker, Luke (Karey) Schmoker, Sarah (Ben) Isaac, Jeremy Ebner, Chris Zinky, Michelle (Joseph) Maxey, Dylan Magistad, Carter Magistad, Jennifer Jungk , Matthew Latham, Lane Nagle, Paul Senske and all the great-grandchildren, as well as lots of nieces and nephews. Jim was preceded in death by his parents, wife Beverly, daughter: Diane, son: Joel and sister: Marylou (Ebner) Lieberherr.
Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. on November 7, 2025 at the Rausch-Lundeen Funeral Home, 400 North 1st St. Cameron, Wisconsin 54822 with a Rosary Service beginning at 7:30 p.m. Visitation will also be held for the hour prior to Mass at the church on Saturday. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on November 8, 2025 at St. Peter’s Catholic Church, 1618 20th St. Cameron, Wisconsin, with Father Mariadas Vallabhaneni officiating. Interment will be held on a later date at St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery in Rice Lake WI. Arrangements are with Rausch-Lundeen Funeral Homes, Cameron & Dallas.

Shirley Marie Hogan, age 97, passed on to her heavenly father on October 17th, 2025, at Dove Health Care in Rice Lake, Wisconsin (1928-2025). Shirley was a spirited and loving woman who embraced life on her own terms and devoted herself fiercely to her family. Her laughter, strength, and unmistakable tenacity touched everyone who knew her. She cherished her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, always showing up with joy and unwavering love. Born and raised in rural Osseo, Minnesota, Shirley grew up on the family farm surrounded by her parents, grandparents, and two younger sisters. She graduated in 1942 from Osseo High School as a varsity cheerleader and homecoming queen. Her early years on the farm shaped her grit and her love for family. Throughout her life, she wore many hats but found her greatest passion as a restaurant and bar owner. Later, she returned to the country life she loved, settling on a farm with her beloved husband, Walt. Together, they built a home filled with warmth, laughter, and cherished memories. In her later years, Shirley and Walt enjoyed traveling, spending winters in Florida, Arizona and Texas, always seeking sunshine and the company of family and friends. She delighted in simple pleasures, like playing bingo, embroidery, reading and card games, never missing an opportunity to join in the fun.
Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, Lester and Marie Scott; her husband, Walter Hogan; her sister, Barbara (Bob) Larson; her daughter, Kathleen Andreason; and stepdaughter Kathy Hogan. She is survived by her sister, Adele Nelson; her children, Terry (Julie) Toomey, Dawn (Ty) Rogers, and Danny (Sandy) Dahlstrom; her stepchildren, Pete (Mary) Hogan, Tom (Sheri) Hogan and Joe Hogan; her grandchildren, Michael (Deni) Toomey, Eve (Charlie) Toomey-Daniels, Maria (Ben) Cooper, Dustin (Theresa) Weyenberg, Courtney Rogers (Justin Frisinger), Lucas (Carrie) Dahlstrom, and Sam Dahlstrom (Mikayla Riecica); and 11 beloved great-grandchildren. Shirley’s vibrant spirit and boundless love will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. Her family takes comfort in knowing she is now reunited with those she held dear.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 23rd at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Rice Lake with Father Phil Juza officiating & interment following in Northern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery at Spooner. Visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m. Wednesday at the Rausch-Lundeen Funeral Home in Cameron & also for the hour prior to Mass at the church on Thursday. Elroy John Ludvik, age 82, of Ladysmith, WI passed away peacefully at Mayo Clinic Health System in Eau Claire on Thursday, October 2, 2025. Elroy was born in Ladysmith on January 25, 1943 to Bohuslav and Gertrude (Wilz) Ludvik. He married the love of his life Judith Poquette on December 2, 1967. He worked at Hein Implement until its closing. He then transitioned to working in the logging industry until his retirement. After retirement he enjoyed traveling, hunting, fishing and playing cards. He looked forward to spending his winters in Texas.
Elroy is survived by his wife of 57 years, Judith and their son: Todd (Debra) of Somerset. He is also survived by 3 grandchildren: Travis Kowalski (Kylee), Ryan Kowalski (Sara) and Evan Kowalski (Autumn) and 6 great grandchildren. He is further survived by brothers: Norman, Jerome (Linda), Laurence (Karen) and sisters: Cecelia Pooler and Mary Christman (Bob Whelan) and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents: Bo and Gert Ludvik, brother: Joseph Bernard and sisters: Catherine Turner, Adele Whiting and Rita Collier.
A private family memorial will be held at a later date. Rausch-Lundeen Funeral Homes, Dallas & Cameron and the VA are assisting the family with cremation services.

Lloyd P. King, age 82, of Barron & formerly of Cameron, WI died Saturday, January 11, 2025 at Marshfield Medical Center in Eau Claire. He was born on October 26, 1942 to Paul & Marie (Rogers) King on the home farm near Canton, WI. On April 18, 1962, he was married to Susan Holman and the couple settled in Cameron. Lloyd worked for Jerome Foods for a time & then went to work for Beecraft Plumbing where he eventually became a Master Plumber. After retiring, he went to work as a custodian for the Cameron Schools.
Lloyd was preceded in death by his parents, his father & mother-in-law: Raymond & Lenora Holman & brother-in-law: Richard Becker. He is survived by his wife: Susan, sister: Dorothy Becker, nephew: Wayne Becker, niece: Sharon Becker, as well as many cousins, other relatives & friends.
A Graveside Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 18, 2025 at the Pine Grove Cemetery in Cameron. Arrangements are with Rausch-Lundeen Funeral Homes, Cameron & Dallas.

Cale Michael Earl Rose, age 40, of Ridgeland, WI passed away unexpectedly but peacefully at his home on Tuesday, September 30, 2025. He was born on November 14, 1984 in Cumberland, WI to David and Kathryn (Thompson) Rose. Cale grew up in Ridgeland, WI and graduated from Barron High School in 2003. He was a devoted father and the proud dad of four amazing children: Mikaela, Caden, Weston and Lily Rose. His children were his greatest joy and he cherished every moment with them and his Forever Love, Christal Holec. He was a professional driver for most of his adult life. Cale was known for his strong work ethic, reliability and kindness. Beyond his career, he was a caring and dependable man who gave back to his community in many ways. He especially enjoyed being part of the Barron County Truck Show, where he made lasting friendships and shared his passion for trucking. Cale will be remembered for his big heart, his dedication to family and friends, his love for cooking and the way he always showed up when someone needed him.

In addition to Christal and his children, Cale is survived by his parents, brother: Courtney (Jodene) Rose, grandmother: Marj Thompson, nephew: Dominik, niece: Dnae and several aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his grandparents: Don Thompson, Dick Rose, Marian Rose and Alvin Pichelman.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, October 11, 2025 from 2:00 -5:00 p.m. at the Ridgeland Village Park. All who knew and loved Cale are welcome to attend and share memories of his life. Emma Rude, age 88, of Gambrills Maryland, passed away on September 28th, 2025 at Autumn Lakes Health Care in Crofton, Maryland. She was born October 18th, 1936 to Albert and Lillian (Strand) Rabehl in Rice Lake, Wisconsin. On November 28th, 1959 she married John Rude of Cameron, Wisconsin. They resided in Cameron until they decided to follow their 3 children to Maryland where she lived until her death.
She loved golfing, sewing, baking and making frequent trips to the casino with her husband. Emma and John enjoyed their twice a year vacations back to Rice Lake after they moved to Maryland. Her favorite activity was babysitting her grandchildren and watching them grow into adulthood. She loved babysitting children for whoever needed help and enjoyed teaching Sunday School. She also enjoyed her time working at Sanna Dairies and Fritz Furniture in Cameron. Once she moved to Maryland, she helped out at the family businesses, Crofton Country Club and Uncle Nicky’s restaurant. She greeted customers and waited on tables. She is well remembered for the homemade pies she baked for the restaurant. Customers would come in just to get some of Emma’s home baked pies. She always loved her pets and was known to have a cat or two spend the night under the covers with her.

Emma was preceded in death by her parents, husband: John on September 29th, 2010, sister: Ruth Rabehl and step daughter: Jeanne (Leonard) Hess. She is survived by her brothers: George (Caroline) Rabehl, Walter Rabehl and Arnold (Linda) Rabehl, her children: Bob (Kathy) Rude, Linda (William) Berkshire and Diane (Jerry) Von Seggern, her grandchildren: Kyle Berkshire, Jillian (Shane) (Berkshire) Koreny and Gretchen Von Seggern, step granddaughter: Kitzie (Herb) Winters, step great-grandchildren: Gracie and Madison Nelson and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 11th at Faith Lutheran Church in Cameron with Jane Snowden officiating and interment following at the Pine Grove Cemetery in Cameron. Visitation will be held from 4-8 p.m. Friday at the Rausch-Lundeen Funeral Home in Cameron and also for the hour prior to services at the church on Saturday. Clarence Allen Wicken, Jr., age 72, of the Town of Sioux Creek, rural Chetek, WI died Friday, August 8th, 2025 at his home. He was born August 23rd, 1952 to Clarence & Eldora (Deskin) Wicken in Menomonie. He graduated from Barron High School & on May 23rd, 1975, he was married to Jane Burling at New Scandinavia Lutheran Church in the Town of Maple Grove. Along with many years of dairy farming, he held many different jobs throughout the years. He hauled can milk while still in school & later hauled bulk milk. He worked at the Poskin & Almena Feed Mills, the Barron MLP Sales Barn & logged for many years. Clarence enjoyed going to Horse Pulls, cooking the “Wicken Finger Licken Chicken”, hunting, fishing & running combine. He could often be found having breakfast at the Sand Creek Café or drinking coffee & B.S.ing at the “Office” (Sand Creek Cenex). Clarence was a hard worker & very determined. He was a very giving & honest man who would always speak his mind. A proud accomplishment of his was earning top herd on milk production for his rolling herd average in Barron County.
Clarence was preceded in death by his parents, 2 sisters & 1 brother. He is survived by his wife of 50 years: Jane, his children: Winnie (Adam) LaGesse, Ann Wicken, Kent Wicken & Brent (Barb) Wicken, grandchildren: Ben, Brandon & Dawson (Katie) Wicken, a sister: Lois (Scot) Arnold, as well as great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives & friends.

Raymond D. Kellogg, age 94, formerly of Cameron, WI died Monday, July 21st, 2025 at Cornell Health Services. He was born June 16th, 1931 in St. Paul, MN. He was raised by his grandparents, James & Nellie Lingle, while his mother, Alma Lingle, worked to provide for the family during the great depression. Ray served in the US Army from 1951-1953 during the Korean War. When he came home he couldn’t find work, but eventually in 1954, he found a job at Pevey’s Paper Mill in Ladysmith where he worked for about 6 years. It was at Pevey’s where Ray met his beloved wife, Dorothy Day. The couple were married on August 19th, 1958 at Pine City, MN. For 58 years, they never went to bed mad at each other. Ray worked many jobs throughout the years. He managed the former Holiday Station in Cameron, was shipping foreman at the former Holsum Bakery in Rice Lake & provided maintenance at the old Barron County Courthouse. Ray retired in 1993 & traveled extensively with his wife, most memorably to Hawaii & Alaska. He also loved deer hunting & trout fishing. Ray faithfully served our veterans & the local community as the member of the Piper-Marsh American Legion Post 194 of Cameron for 70 years. He was also a life member of the VFW & Disabled American Veterans in Rice Lake. Ray’s hope & comfort was to be with our Lord & Savior in eternity.
Ray is survived by his daughter: Sherry Kellogg, granddaughter: LaToya Kellogg, great grandson: Onyx Kellogg, daughter: Geraldine (Jerry) Chartraw, brother: Ronald (Bev) Baguhn, as well as many more grandchildren, great grandchildren, a great great grandchild, nieces, & nephews.
Funeral services will be at 11:30 a.m. Monday, July 28th at the Rausch-Lundeen Funeral Home in Cameron with Chaplain Michelle Earls officiating & interment following in the Northern Wisconsin Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery at Spooner. Visitation will be held for the hour prior to the service on Monday at the funeral home. Ray & family would like to express special thanks to friend, Jill Fenske, for many years of help, service & visits. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the Rice Lake Cat Coalition. Arrangements are with Rausch-Lundeen Funeral Homes, Cameron & Dallas.
