🎄 Toys for Tots Reminder! 🎁

Hi Fyzical friends! Just a quick reminder that our Toys for Tots collection is up and going! We are proud to partner with toys for tots this Christmas season to help give back to those in need.

The season of giving and thankfulness is here! A few things we have going on at our Fyzical Camilla location:

🔹 Month of November food drive: For the month of November, we’re collecting non-perishable food items for local families.
We are so proud of our community! We have been able to donate 97 pounds (and counting) of food items to our local food pantry! Let’s keep the momentum going until the end of the month!

🔹You may have noticed a Toys for Tots collection box set up at our offices- We are taking toy donations starting now until December 10th

If you feel led to give—whether it’s a single can of soup or a brand-new toy—your kindness truly makes a difference. Small acts of generosity can make a huge impact!

You can drop donations off in our lobby anytime during business hours.

National Physical Therapy Month continues, where we honor our AMAZING therapists! This week, our therapist spotlight goes to Lisa!

Meet Lisa, PTA! She is a vital part of the team here at FYZICAL therapy and balance center in Camilla! She has a gift of compassion and understanding with each patient.

🔹What inspired you to become a physical therapist assistant?

“Physical therapy assistants build strong one on one relationships with patients, which is a rewarding aspect of the job.”

🔹 What do you wish people knew about physical therapy?

“Physical therapy benefits people of all ages, from infants with developmental delays to the elderly who need help preventing falls.”

🔹 What is your favorite diagnosis to treat and why?

“I enjoy treating balance and gait disorders! Helping patients overcome dizziness and imbalance and help them restore confidence and independence is very rewarding!” 🩵

Meet Bret, PTA! He is an excellent therapist with a genuine personality; making each patient feel more like family and friends. He is a vital part of the team here at FYZICAL Camilla!

Below are his responses to our questions:

🔹What inspired you to become a physical therapist assistant?

“I grew up in a household where I was taught that it was better to give than to receive and because my parents instilled this in me, being a physical therapist here at Fyzical allows me to help others and make a difference in their lives. It is such a rewarding career!”

🔹 What do you wish people knew about physical therapy?

“ I wish people understood the real benefits of therapy. Therapy is more than just coming to a place, exercising and building strength. Here at Fyzical therapy and balance center, we offer a variety of ways to improve your independence as with your daily life. Therapy is so much more than just improving mobility and building strength, it allows you to regain your independence and can improve everyday life!”

🔹 What is your favorite diagnosis to treat and why?

“I would say my favorite diagnosis to treat is just general deconditioned patients. I would say this is my favorite because a lot of times, the patient with this diagnosis will generally see the biggest gains from therapy; they can go from needing assistance with everything from walking, to cooking, to cleaning, bathing and dressing, and after applying themselves in physical therapy, they can regain independence and not have to depend on assistance as much.”

Meet Trevor, DPT! Our therapist spotlight, Trevor holds a doctorate degree in physical therapy. He is extremely knowledgeable and committed to helping patients heal through physical therapy! Below are his responses to our questions:

🔹What inspired you to become a physical therapist?

“ I wanted to have an active job where I could help people do the things they want to do and help others be able to stay active.”

🔹What do you wish people knew about physical therapy?

“ Physical therapy can help a variety of diagnosis, even if it cannot physically fix the problem. For example, a patient with a disc herniation or arthritis can return to pain free function utilizing physical therapy, even though physical therapy is not directly fixing the injury. Physical therapy is a great non invasive way to feel better without the need for medication, injections, or surgery.”

🔹 What is your favorite diagnosis to treat and why?

“My favorite diagnosis to treat is post surgical rehabilitation for knee replacements. The patient is able to progress from having limited mobility and a lot of pain right after surgery to being back to doing all the things they love to do. It is a great diagnosis to be able to see big jumps in progress from start to finish”. ☺️
