Travis Scott Forever 27
For those of you on this page who lost a loved one, especially a child, you will never forget when you got the news.
I am Travis' mom. I got the news 7 years ago on this day.
I was at work and had just told my GM I was taking time off to go to Austin to see my boy. I had a gut feeling something was wrong, he was planning his wedding and I knew he was stressed. I just finished talking to a coworker, she didn't realize Travis was my son. She mentioned what a nice sweet guy he was. Then the call came. It has changed me and my whole world forever.
Things I have learned are the following:
You have to find gratitude and happiness, be thankful for the time you had with your loved one.
Make a difference. You can not bring them back, so try and help this from happening to someone else.
Share their story. By doing this, you get to talk about them and hopefully make a difference in someones life.
Educate people. Addiction is not a choice or a character flaw, it is a disease. They are not "druggies" they are someones child, sibling, fiancée, spouse, and friend.
Here is a picture of Trav one month before he passed. I invite you to share a picture of your lost loved one in the comments.
