We weren’t the biggest fans of those early morning appointments, especially before school but we did it. All that hard work paid off and now you can sleep in a little bit on your Fridays. Now go enjoy that good, quality sleep!

Another year of spreading the word about functional health and the impacts it has on your dental and overall health 🎉

Our world changes quickly and my goal is to share the research in my field and empower everyone to understand more about their bodies.

The more I learn, the more you learn. so pay attention.

This is what I mean when I say, “let’s go for a walk”

Remember to practice your nasal breathing, stay hydrated and take the opportunity to go on an adventure.

It’s a beautiful world, go explore it.

Alzheimer’s is a difficult disease. My family has experience in this world so this research hits close to home for me.

Research has strongly associated sleep apnea with certain types of dementia including: Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s. It is not labeled an official risk factor at this time. We are always in need of further research but this takes time and money. Currently, it is recommended to screen for signs of dementia early in patients with diagnosed sleep apnea. Sleep apnea starves the brain of oxygen and causes inflammation, thus leaving these cognitive changes likely as a result.

6 million Americans have been diagnosed with sleep apnea however it is estimated that closer to 30 million Americans are affected by the disease. It is my dream to focus on red flags early and help families reduce the risk of this brutal disease. DM me for a link to schedule a complimentary consultation online. Let’s breathe easier in 2026.

My decorations stayed up with the exception of one balloon, my patients were mostly compliant this morning (even with Christmas so close) and I get to see my family tonight!

What a great day to celebrate another year 💛

For years, my birthday was overshadowed by ugly Christmas parties, gingerbread decorating contests and gift exchanges. I love the holidays and was happy to celebrate with my coworkers while working clinically, however, that stops this year.

This year, I am choosing to celebrate my birthday, with my wonderful patients, in my own adorable office. So cheers to 33 and hopefully these decorations last over the weekend 💚💜🥳

P.s. that’s how you blow up balloons while nasal breathing 🥳

Last year I wanted to learn how to play the drums. For my birthday, my husband bought me a great set of electric drums and I tried to teach myself with the help of Google and YouTube. Six months later I sold the drums and learned I would need a teacher, not YouTube.

Myofunctional therapy not different in this regard. Therapy looks different for everyone. Not one patient functions the same and this means handing somebody a peice of paper with exercises or practicing on YouTube is not comparable to therapy with a trained therapist.

Therapy should be tailored to your specific needs and adapted to your ability. It should have a progression to challenge you but not defeat you. Only an educated, licensed professional with years of experience learning about the orofacial complex can do this.
