We are so proud of Mike Haliday, APRN, who was praised in the comments/testimonials from one of our patients. Her letter reads:

"I wanted to take the time to tell you about someone who ALWAYS goes above and beyond. The person is Mike Haliday, Nurse Practitioner at the Cancer Center. I started going to the Cancer Center in August of 2008 as a newly diagnosed CML (Chronic Myeloid Leukemia) patient. I started seeing Dr Lissanu at that time who took very good care of me. Then when Mike was hired, Dr Lissanu turned my care over to him. Over the years, Mike has took such good care of me and my medical needs. The first few times that I saw him I realized he knew so very much about CML. It was like he read the book and he was a sponge and just automatically knew it and everything about it. Not only did he know about the disease, but he also knew so much about the side effects of the disease and of the different kinds of medications that is used to treat CML. He also knows every single thing about treating side effects of the disease and of the medications. His wealth of knowledsge is immense. He calls to check on you when you are going through rough times with the disease. He gives you his cell in case of emergency. He truly cares about his patients living their best lives despite what they are going through. There was a short period of about a month when I saw another doctor and not once during that time was my lungs or heart listened to, or was I examined. The only contact was shaking my hand. When I started seeing Mike again, I told him just how much I appreciated him and the good care that he gave me. Mike truly cares about his patients, and their wellbeing. He will be sadly missed when he retires. Taylor County will have lost the care of one of the best Nurse Practitioners. Thank you Mike for all that you do and the care you have given to so many."

Way to go Mike!! We love you and obviously, our patients do to!!

Mike Haliday, APRN—The care he provides at the Cancer Center is nothing short of wonderful!! The recent comment from one of our patients says it all and describes Mike beautifully!! We are so proud to have him on our team!!

“Mike Haliday makes you feel completely comfortable. He is very thorough anytime I have ever seen him. He listens to what I have to say and always explains to me in a way that I understand. He has been so kind to me and I think he genuinely cares about his patients. I could not be more pleased."

We kicked off Nurse’s Week a little early with our annual “Blessing of the Hands” on Friday, May 2, 2025 This is a deeply, meaningful ceremony renewing our commitment of service to the Lord, our profession and our patients. During our ceremony we also presented the “You Made a Difference Award” to our TRH Van Driver, Billy StClair. Billy is a blessing to our patients and us everyday, as he gives selflessly of himself 100% of the time, always going above and beyond with love. Happy Nurse’s Week everyone!! If you love a nurse, this is a great week to show it!!
