In light of today's announcement by the Trump administration to move forward with measures that would effectively ban gender-affirming care for young people, NASP reaffirms its position statement on safe and supportive schools for transgender and gender diverse students. NASP supports access to gender-affirming care and rejects efforts that would allow health providers to deny services to gender diverse students or punish/prohibit parents from seeking gender affirming care for their children. Filiz Wright, EdS.., is a pre-licensed mental health clinician and school psychologist who provides counseling for children, adolescents, and adults navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, emotional regulation challenges, ADHD, and learning differences.

Her counseling approach is relational, evidence-based, and integrative, grounded in an understanding that each individual’s story and development are unique. Filiz draws on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), play therapy, and person-centered, nervous-system-informed interventions to foster emotional awareness, coping skills, and resilience. With years of experience in schools and community settings, Filiz is passionate about helping clients build regulation, confidence, and connection within themselves and their relationships. Her practice is guided by warmth, curiosity, and collaboration, meeting each client where they are and supporting growth at their own pace.

Outside of her work, Filiz enjoys spending time outdoors with her family, hiking, and camping across New England. She also speaks Turkish and values bringing a multicultural perspective to her practice.
