This month, Canadian Family Physicians recognizes Parkinson’s Disease—a time to support those living with this disease and the families navigating this condition.

Parkinson’s is a neurodegenerative disorder that affects movement, often causing tremors, stiffness, slowed mobility, and balance challenges. Awareness matters. While there is no cure yet, early diagnosis, informed care, and personalized management strategies can greatly enhance the quality of life.

For our third post during 𝗖𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗿𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗮𝗹 𝗖𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲𝗿 𝗔𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗠𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗵, we’re focusing on one of the most powerful tools we have against this disease: early detection. Screening can identify precancerous polyps before they develop into cancer, and it can detect cancer at an early stage, when treatment has the highest chance of success.

Most adults at average risk should begin screening at 𝗮𝗴𝗲 𝟰𝟱, while those with increased risk factors may need to start earlier. Our Story

Canadian Family Physicians was acquired by the Hemphill County Hospital District in June 2014 from Dr. Tony Cook and Dr. Cody Culwell. Tiffany Potter, FNP-C joined CFP in July of 2014. In December, 2018, Dr. Anna Isaacs became the newest member of our growing family medicine practice. Following the District’s Mission, our goal is to serve the region’s health needs through exceptional care in a compassionate environment by dedicated professionals.
