Have you heard or believed any of these? 🤭🤭
Myth 1: The “crack” means bones are being put back in place
🌱 That popping sound isn’t bones grinding—it’s gas releasing from the joint (kind of like cracking your knuckles). Adjustments improve motion and reduce tension; they’re not snapping bones into place.
Myth 2: Chiropractic is only for adults
🌱 Chiropractic care can be gentle and adapted for kids, babies, pregnant people, and seniors. Pediatric and prenatal adjustments look very different from adult ones.
Myth 3: Chiropractors aren’t “real” doctors
🌱 Chiropractors earn a Doctor of Chiropractic (DC) degree, which means years of graduate-level education, national boards, and state licensing. They’re not medical doctors (MDs), but they are licensed healthcare professionals with deep training in the neuromusculoskeletal system.
Myth 4: Once you go, you have to go forever
🌱 This one comes up allll the time. Chiropractic care isn’t addictive. Some people choose ongoing care because it helps them feel better (like exercise or massage), but no one has to keep going. Good chiropractors set goals and reassess progress.
Myth 5: It’s just about back pain
🌱 Chiropractic care helps with way more than backs:
+ neck pain
+ headaches/migraines
+ posture issues
+ joint pain (shoulders, hips, knees)
+ pregnancy discomfort
+ sports injuries
It’s really about how the spine and nervous system affect the whole body.
