🐾FIRST ANNUAL PET COSTUME CONTEST🐾

Thanks to everyone who dressed up their pets and brought them in for our residents to vote on their favorite costume!

Each pet received a bag of goodies including treats made by our residents.

We’re proud to recognize Don Skadsem as our Employee of the Quarter!

Don’s compassion and humor shine through in everything he does. He makes a difference every day by treating our residents like family — giving morning hugs, sharing laughter, and going above and beyond to make everyone feel at home. 💙

Here’s a little more about Don:

👨‍⚕️ How long have you been a caregiver?
“I’ve been in healthcare for 41 years — I started two weeks after my 15th birthday!”

💡 Who inspired you to be a caregiver?
“Honestly, I wanted a car and the job available was a CNA, so I started — and loved it!”

❤️ What do you love most about being a caregiver?
“My residents! I love my second family and try to treat them that way — with fun and respect.”

🎸 When you’re not caring for others:
“I enjoy playing the guitar.”

🌏 If you could travel anywhere:
“I’d go to New Zealand — I love the beauty of nature there.”

🗣️ Advice for your peers:
“Love these residents and treat them with respect — they deserve that! Treat them like people and have fun with them. This is their home; we’re just visitors.”

Don, thank you for your dedication, compassion, and the joy you bring to our residents and team. You truly embody what it means to care from the heart. 💙👏

With 39 years of nursing experience—8 of those right here at TCLC—Geri exemplifies compassion, dedication, and heart. She knows each resident’s story, advocates for their needs, and never hesitates to jump in where she’s needed, often going above and beyond without being asked.

Geri’s care is rooted in a deep family tradition—her mother, sisters, and daughters are all nurses. And when she’s not making a difference at work, she loves spending time at the lake, traveling, and being a proud grandma. 💙
