✨ Why Pretend Play Matters in ABA ✨
This week in Canfield, our learners were busy exploring the world through pretend play—and it’s so much more than just “playing.”
🧠 Pretend play helps children:
✔ Build language and communication skills
✔ Practice social interaction and turn-taking
✔ Strengthen problem-solving and flexible thinking
✔ Develop emotional understanding and self-regulation
✔ Generalize skills to real-life situations
In ABA, we use play-based, evidence-based strategies to turn moments of imagination into meaningful learning opportunities. Whether they’re cooking in a play kitchen, running a fire station, or caring for dolls, our students are practicing skills that support independence and success in school and beyond.
We love seeing confidence, creativity, and connection grow—one pretend adventure at a time. 💫
