Thoughts from a therapist: Holidays bring family gatherings and tension sometimes comes along too. If you are anticipating any family issues, plan ahead for short breaks (going for a walk, a necessary trip to the grocery store, etc.) to help you keep your balance. And don't load yourself up with guilt, but instead offer yourself the same grace you give to others.

Relationships issues are just one of the many difficulties that therapists can help with. Give me a call if you think its time to to reach out. - 719-315-1976

Thoughts from a therapist: Many people find themselves struggling with more depression and sadness this time of year. In fact, it affects so many people that it has its own name: Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD). The short days, compounded by colder weather that keeps us inside can cause these symptoms. If this describes you, there are things you can do to help. Try maximizing natural light in your home and workspace. Get outside and move around. See your doctor to make sure there are no underlying physical issues, and see a therapist for support and tools to cope. If you are interested in therapy, give me a call for a free consultation.

Thoughts from a therapist: One of the most frequent issues my clients have is "not feeling good enough." And I am talking about doctors, nurses, lawyers, teachers, police officers and all sorts of other people that we tend to respect. When we compare what we feel and know about ourselves on the inside to what we observe in others' public facades it is easy to believe that they do not share our fears, insecurities and pain. This is simply not true. You are not less than anyone else. I am here if you need help.

The holidays are a stressful time for many of us. Tip from a therapist: pay attention to your self talk. Are you your own worst bully or your own advocate? Be good to yourself in your inner narrative and you will feel better. And I'm here for you if you need help.
