A Different Kind of Spring Reset

Not every spring reset needs to be dramatic.

Sometimes it looks like:
• stepping outside for 10 minutes
• answering one text
• taking a walk
• scheduling support you've been putting off

If winter drained your energy, it’s okay if your version of spring is slower.

Healing often starts with small steps.

As the days get lighter, it might be the right time to ask:

What kind of support would help me feel more like myself again?

🌿 In The Now Counseling supports women in the Canonsburg area who are navigating stress, burnout, and seasonal depression.

When You Don’t Feel Better Yet

A lot of people expect to feel better the moment winter ends.

But seasonal depression doesn’t always work that way.

You might still feel:
• mentally foggy
• low energy
• socially drained
• slower than usual

That doesn’t mean you’re doing anything wrong.

Think of early spring like a gradual thaw, not a switch flipping on.

Longer days.
A little more light.
Small shifts over time.

If winter has taken more out of you this year, you don’t have to figure it out alone.

🌱 In The Now Counseling supports women in the Canonsburg area who are ready to feel like themselves again.

Winter Doesn’t Flip Off Overnight

Just because it’s March doesn’t mean winter lifted overnight.

If you’re still feeling:

• tired
• unmotivated
• a little disconnected

You’re not alone.

Seasonal depression doesn’t disappear the moment the days get longer.

Often the shift into spring looks like small changes:
• a little more light
• a little more energy
• one good day mixed into the hard ones

Let yourself move into spring gently.

And if the heaviness hasn’t lifted yet, support can help.

🌿 In The Now Counseling in Canonsburg supports women navigating stress, burnout, and seasonal depression. We're here for you.

Doomscrolling can feel like it’s controlling your mood-but you can take it back. Small moments away from the screen = big moments for your mental health. Step back. Be present. Feel the calm.

You open social media for a quick break…

…and somehow 20 minutes later you feel

more overwhelmed,

more anxious,

or like everyone else has life more figured out than you do.

This happens to so many people.

Sometimes doomscrolling isn’t really about social media — it’s just our mind trying to cope when we’re already feeling overloaded.

I created a simple guide with 5 questions to ask yourself before you start scrolling.

They only take about a minute, but they can help you pause and figure out what you might actually need in that moment.

You can download it here:

5 Questions to Ask Yourself Before Doomscrolling A simple guide to help you pause, reset, and protect your mental energy before doomscrolling on social media. Are you doomscrolling? If you're here, you might be feeling a little overwhelmed lately.

Maybe life looks “fine” on the outside, but internally you feel:

• mentally exhausted
• stuck in a life transition
• stretched thin taking care of everyone else
• unsure how to slow your thoughts down

You're not alone in that.

At In The Now Counseling, we work with women who want a place to talk honestly, sort through what they're carrying, and start feeling more like themselves again.

Therapy isn't about being broken.

Sometimes it's simply about having the space to breathe and think clearly again.

If you're in the Canonsburg, PA area and have been considering counseling, you're welcome to reach out.

Ever notice how doomscrolling leaves you feeling drained? 💻😣

Comparison fatigue is real. Social media can make us feel like we’re falling behind, even when we’re doing just fine.

If your child:

• Melts down frequently
• Struggles with anxiety
• Refuses school
• Shuts down instead of talking

It may not be defiance.

It may be difficulty expressing needs.

At In The Now Counseling, we help children build emotional language and regulation through play-based therapy in Canonsburg, PA.

You don’t have to navigate big emotions alone.

Try this today:

Instead of:

“Stop yelling.”

Try:

“It makes sense that you’re frustrated. It’s not okay to yell. What do you need right now?”

That small shift teaches:

• Feelings are safe
• Behavior has limits
• Needs can be expressed

Helping children communicate clearly reduces power struggles over time.

I break this down more in my latest post:

5 Ways to Help Your Child Express Their Needs.
