2️⃣ Octopuses Have No Blind Spot 🐙👁️
Humans have a natural blind spot where the optic nerve exits the retina — a small area where no visual information is detected.
Your brain is so good at filling in the gap that you almost never notice it.
But the fascinating Octopus is built differently.
In octopuses, the optic nerve sits behind the retina, so it doesn’t interrupt the light-sensing cells. That means no blind spot at all.
It’s one of the reasons octopus vision is so efficient underwater.
Good news for us: even though humans do have a blind spot, our brains are incredibly skilled at filling in the missing information so the world still looks seamless.
