It’s Mom Talk Monday!!

Today we talk about how tongue tie isn’t always the whole story when breastfeeding feels hard.

Yes—a tongue tie can impact latch, sucking, and feeding.
But sometimes babies are also dealing with tension in the jaw, neck, shoulders, or body that can make feeding even more challenging.

That’s why some families notice:
• painful latch
• shallow latch
• clicking
• favoring one side
• frustration during feeds
• continued struggles even after a release

This is one reason some parents seek out a pediatric chiropractor as part of their support team. A lot of what appears to be a tongue tie or lip tie can actually be tension in the neck, shoulders, jaw and cranium from the birth process.

The goal is not to “treat a tongue tie” with chiropractic care.
It’s to gently assess movement, reduce body tension, and support how baby functions during feeding through gentle, specific chiropractic care.

Best outcomes for breastfeeding often come from a team approach:
