Trigger time.
The need for trigger time is fundamental to maintaining your skills with any firearm.
The old school saying "Marksmanship is a perishable skill" holds as true today, as it did back when the phrase was coined.
Live fire is your best option, while purchasing ammunition in bulk (1,000, 5,000 round lots) is the least expensive choice for saving real $$ as you hit the range. It can still be expensive.
Dry fire training is a great way to maintain your handling, draw, and your marksmanship fundamental skills. While it is not a substitute for live fire training, it is a great addition to it.
Several companies are now offering realistic options for dry-fire training in the home, using lasers and a downloadable app.
Mantis offers both the X10 series rail mountable modules for your existing fi****ms as well as inserts for carbines.
Next Level Training offers the SIRT training pistols, .
Strikeman offers various caliber, laser inserts for your actual firearm, as well as SIRT compatibility with their app.
Look into them, the first 1,000 pulls of the trigger will pay for itself, not to mention the ability to train at home, whenever you have the time.
As always, apply all the safety fundamentals you would follow with live fi****ms.
