Jeffrey S. Nemitz, age 65, of East Sparta, passed away on December 24, 2025. He was born on November 18, 1960 in Canton, Ohio to Paul J. and Alice Nemitz. He graduated from East Canton High School before furthering his education at Stark State College.

Those left to cherish Jeffrey's memory are his son, Jered (Sarah) Nemitz; mother, "Sally" Nemitz Cummings; brothers, Paul K., Mark, and Michael Nemitz; nieces, Kristina Traugott, Natalie, and Maddie Davis; and nephews, Brandon Orlando, Brett Nemitz and Clark Davis.

He was preceded in death by his father, Paul J., as well as his grandparents.

Connie S. Sherrard, age 67, passed away unexpectedly on December 20, 2025 at Altercare of Nobles Pond in Canton, OH. She was born on August 28, 1958 in Canton, Ohio to Richard Allen Wells and Donna Elaine (Bowser) Wells.

Connie was a 1976 East Canton High School Graduate. She was known to greet you with a smile at the deli department at Fisher’s Foods in Canton with over 20 years of serving her customers.

She previously attended Faith Family Church. Connie was very dedicated to her faith and to God, she was a passionate Christian.

Connie enjoyed crocheting, knitting, playing cards and reading. She loved to spend time with her family especially being ornery with her nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by her father Richard “Dick” A. Wells; daughter, Elizabeth Sherrard and brother Richard Wells.

Those left to cherish her memories are her daughters; Sarah Sherrard and Rachel Sherrard; sons, Philip Sherrard, Brett Sherrard, and Aaron Sherrard; granddaughter, Camille Card; sisters, Vicki (Wendell) Davis, Karen (Tom) Hammond, Patie (Melvin) George, Donna Baker, Brenda Willison, Renee Wells; brother, Jason (Karen) Wells and many nieces and nephews.

There will be a visitation held on Friday, January 2nd, 2026 from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at Sanders Funeral Home, 218 E. Nassau St, East Canton, OH 44730. A memorial service will be held at a later date at Louisville Christian Church.

Richard Gayle Bellamy

Richard Gayle Bellamy, age 83, of East Canton, passed away peacefully on December 19, 2025. He was born on June 7, 1942, in Canton, Ohio, to the late Stewart and Gladys (Hartline) Bellamy. A lifelong resident of the East Canton community, he was known to most simply as “Gayle.”

Gayle was a man of many talents and proudly spent his career with the Timken Company, where he worked as an Apprentice instructor before retiring. In addition to his professional life, he was a farmer who deeply loved his community and the many friendships he formed over a lifetime. Later in life, he continued his service to the community by working for the Osnaburg Township Cemetery Department.

He had a wide range of passions, including trap shooting, and shot in the Tri-County Trap League, as well as the Brown Township and Mapleton Gun Clubs. He cherished time spent with his wife gem hunting prior to her passing. He also liked boating and fishing. A natural adventurer, Gayle lived his life with curiosity and enthusiasm.

Above all, besides his family, Gayle’s greatest passion was flying. As a pilot, he found joy in being just a little closer to the Heavens, he was a proud member of the Flying Farmers Association and the Minerva Flying Association.

Gayle is proceeded in death by parents and his wife Mary Ann (Baird) Bellamy on September 16, 2005.

Those left to cherish his memory include one daughter and son-in-law, Vicki and William Lloyd of East Canton; his brother James (Sandy) Bellamy and his dog “Blue”.

Friends and family may call on Monday, December 22, 2025 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Sanders Funeral Home and on Tuesday, December 23, 2025 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, December 23, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home, with Pastor Tim Prince officiating. Following his funeral he will be laid to rest at Mapleton Cemetery.

Ronnie D. Woods, age 76, of Navarre, Ohio, passed away on Tuesday, December 16, 2025, at Aultman Compassionate Care Center, following a period of declining health.

He was born on November 10, 1949, in Fountain Head, Tennessee, to the late Dewey and Lena Pauline (Baird) Woods, and was the youngest of nine children.

Ronnie retired from the Timken Company in 1999. In retirement, he enjoyed traveling by RV with his wife, Jeannie, whom he married on February 4, 1966. He also loved attending and watching his grandsons’ sporting events.

He will be deeply missed by his wife of nearly 60 years, Jeannie (Sanders) Woods; his daughters, Jeannette (David) Shepler and Joy (JC) Conant; and his grandsons, Justin (Brooke) Shepler and Brandon Shepler (fiancée, Katelyn Nitz).

In accordance with Ronnie’s wishes, a private family burial will be held at East Union Lawn Cemetery, in Navarre.

Tina L. Randall, age 53, of Canton Township, passed away after a long battle with cancer. She was born in Canton, Ohio, on November 29, 1972 to the late Charles and Patricia Oliver.

Tina had a love for all animals which led to her career as a veterinarian technician, a job she was truly proud of. In her free time, Tina enjoyed gambling, browsing thrift shops, stopping at garage sales, going out for dinner and trips to the beach. She truly loved to be outside in the sun.

Those left to cherish Tina’s memory is her husband, Scott Randall; daughter, Amanda (Jamie) Randall; beloved dogs, Hank and Drew; siblings, Patty (Gary) Randall, Charlotte (Richard) Spencer, Teddy (Brandy), Joe and Brian (Tera) Oliver; best friend, Sherry Uplinger; as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Chuckie Oliver Jr.

Kenneth E. Herbert

Kenneth E. Herbert, 85, of Canton, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 5, 2025, at Aultman Compassionate Care, surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Canton, Ohio, on August 26, 1940, to the late John and Pauline (Habrun) Herbert, and remained a lifelong resident of the community.

A 1959 graduate of Canton South High School, Ken not only received his education there but also met the love of his life, Sally VanVoorhis, who would later honor him by becoming his wife. Ken was a devoted member of North Industry Christian Church, always willing to step in and help wherever he was needed. Professionally, Ken spent many years working as an excavator operator for several companies before establishing his own successful business, Kenneth Herbert Excavating and then retired from Viking Resources.

Ken is preceded in death by his parents; sons, Allen Herbert and Daryl Herbert; sister, Jeanette Herbert and brothers Richard and Ron Herbert.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife Sally A. Herbert, whom he celebrated 65 years of marriage; sister, Linda (Gary) Weaver; daughter, Cheryl (Rick) Perkins; son, Troy (Trina) Herbert; daughter-in-law, Ann Herbert; grandchildren, Michael Herbert, Joshua (Megan) Herbert, Holly (Ron) May, Scott (Rachel) Herbert, Andrew (Cassie) Perkins, Chelsea (Matt) Moauro and Amy (Kurt) Small; great-grandchildren, Marlee, Colton and Mila Herbert, Evan and Nora May, Kenleigh and Riley Herbert, MJ, Harmony and Cohen Perkins, Laken and Myles Moauro and baby Small.

Friends and family may gather at North Industry Christian Church (425 45th St. SW, Canton, OH 44706) on Thursday, December 11, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Ken’s funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m., with Pastor Stephen Kimbrel and Pastor Ed Barnes officiating. A private interment will take place at Indian Run Cemetery at a later time.

Wendy J. Adkins, 54, of Massillon, Ohio, passed away unexpectedly on November 22.

Wendy was a devoted mother, daughter, sister, and friend. Born and raised in Massillon, she built a longtime career as a cosmetologist, spending more than 30 years helping others feel confident, cared for, and seen.

She found joy in life’s simple beauties—yarn, crafts, and anything related to the Grinch, whom she adored. Her creativity, kindness, and gentle spirit touched everyone around her.

Wendy is survived by her parents, Willard (Nancy) Adkins and Paula Adkins; her brother, Wesley (Stephanie) Adkins; her sons, Tyler Adkins and Zachary Bowers; and her grandson, Landon Adkins, who will carry her memory forward.

Wendy’s life was marked by quiet generosity, creativity, and unwavering love for her family. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

In keeping with her wishes, no services will be held.

Michael J. Showen, born February 6, 1942, in Canton, Ohio, passed away peacefully after a life well-lived. He was the beloved son of James and Teresa Showen, who preceded him in death, along with his siblings, Jimmy (James) and Michelle. After many years apart, they can finally be together again.

Mike leaves behind loving cousins both in the United States and Spain, along with countless friends who cherished his warmth and adventurous spirit. He had a lifelong passion for motocross, walking, stationary biking, and audiobooks - simple joys that brought him happiness every day.

A dedicated and hardworking man, Mike retired from Firestone Tire in Akron, Ohio, after many years of service. His love for racing continued throughout his life as he worked with AMA Racing, allowing him to stay connected to the sport he adored. Through this work and his personal travels, Mike explored the world, creating unforgettable memories with friends and family.

Mike will be remembered for his kindness, his love of life, and his unwavering enthusiasm for the things that brought him joy. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

A graveside burial will take place on Tuesday, December 2, 2025 at 11:00 AM at Calvary Cemetery.

Brent A. Blind

The family of Brent A. Blind is saddened to announce his passing on Sunday, November 23, 2025. Born on August 2, 1969 to his cherished late parents, Bertha and Terry Blind in Tampa, Florida, he spent the majority of his life in the Waynesburg, Ohio, area where he built deep roots and friendships.

Brent’s lifelong love of the outdoors cultivated from a childhood full of learning to trap, fish and hunt with his siblings, mother and father. As a true outdoorsman, there is no doubt his most treasured memories included running trot lines on the Muskingum River or whitetail hunting with his family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Mark Blind.

Brent is survived by his wife, Joni Mack-Blind; two children, Jeromiah (Ashley) Blind and Sheyanne (Sydney) Fox; sister, Sherry Reed; brother, Bart Blind; sister-in-law, Debbie Blind; his adored grandchildren, Thatcher, Wilder, Ira and Anara, all of who were the light of his life; as well as by his 13 nieces and nephews, of whom he was very proud.

As a man of Christian faith, Brent would want his struggles to not be in vain. As many friends and family have said, if only he had let us know how he was feeling, we would have been there. There is always someone out there willing to help you through a rough patch. Please know that leaving your loved ones is never the answer. There is always hope, even in times of darkness.
