Preparing for the Christmas party scheduled for December 19th. We are expecting a couple of musicians and Santa to entertain our senior residents and their loved ones. This is a traditional sauerkraut recipe. Everything is home made. From pickling the cabbage to processing the meat. It took an entire day for two enormous trays, but the end result is worth the effort. There is fresh dill and thyme that were grown in our own garden. Adding the black pepper and smoked bacon enhances the flavor. We can not wait to eat them. Yummy. We will also prepare other dishes such as home made grilled sausages called "Mici." Our seniors love them along with the home made chicken schnitzel. This is just a taste of the goodies to be served.

Good Morning and A Beautiful Sunday to all!

We are trying to keep our residents aware of the changing seasons. Besides the beautiful decorations that we often change with holidays and seasons, we also make the home's aroma in tune with the seasons.
Today our lunch will feature home made Brazilian Chicken Soup to served along with whole wheat toasted bread.
Dinner will feature (home made) oven baked roots such as carrots, parsley roots, sweet potatoes, and butter nut squash caramelized served with fresh garden oregano, marjoram, sea salt, and Parmesan cheese accompanied by tender oven roasted chicken. Desert is Bienenstich Almond Cake from Germany. Yummy!

We are also expecting this wonderful young duo to play a good session of classical music for our wonderful senior residents. We are looking forward to a beautiful day.

While watering our gorgeous flowers early in the morning, I noticed that bees were sleeping upside down in the flowers. So I took some pictures to share with our residents and with all of you. Isn't God amazing?!

Bobby entertained our senior residents and we could not thank him enough. Bobby they loved you! You are a very rare and talented musician. Your voice and your guitar are certainly golden! We are looking forward to seeing you again. Thank you so much for giving us your time and talent.

We had a special visitor while watering our beautiful flowers today. This gorgeous creature was extremely tame. I was able to get fairly close to take a picture of its intricate design. God was having fun in art class when He designed this spirited beauty.

Music therapy is the best thing to calm the soul. Today we are enjoying a beautiful session of familiar songs. Thank you Hospice of Michigan for providing this to our residents. They just love it!
