Can an ENT Doctor Help Treat Thyroid Conditions?

Yes, otolaryngologists (Ear, Nose, and Throat doctors, or ENTs) treat thyroid conditions, especially those related to the physical structure of the neck and head. They can diagnose and manage issues like thyroid nodules, goiters, and some thyroid cancers through methods such as ultrasound, fine needle aspiration (biopsy), and surgery. While an endocrinologist may handle the overall medical management of thyroid hormone imbalances, an ENT is equipped to evaluate and treat thyroid conditions that cause symptoms like hoarseness, difficulty swallowing, or breathing problems.
