As a reminder, starting April 1st, 2026, massages will still be offered at Mystic Float, but will be offered by independent practitioners, so will be independent of Mystic Float services. All gift cards for massage purchased through Mystic Float must be redeemed prior to April 1st. After March 31st they will continue to be honored for any Mystic Float services.

Do you practice any daily affirmations? Affirmations help to retrain your thoughts to work in your favor. It may feel silly at first if you're not used to it, but positive self talk like this does take practice, so be easy on yourself.

Anxiety can stop us in our tracks, but if we remember to tune into our bodies, the feeling may go away. Remind yourself of what you know: I know I am safe. I know I am loved. I know I am capable.

When we don't feel safe, it's hard to feel calm.

According to Bob Livingstone, a licensed clinical social worker, "Feeling safe is not having that soon to be falling off a cliff feeling and not worried about being criticized by those surrounding you."

Floating gives us a wonderful opportunity to feel safe in our body, safe with our thoughts, and hopefully that feeling of safe will stay with you long after your float.

Don't let your thoughts create even more anxiety!

Replace the anxious thoughts by focusing on what you see around you, and naming it in your mind. It sounds simple, but it's a practice (just like floating!) If the mind stops focusing on the anxious thoughts, it forgets that it was anxious in the first place.

Look around you and name what you see. Purple blanket. Pretty flower. Cup of coffee. Framed picture. White napkin. Yellow dress. Keep naming things until you feel your heart rate slow.

Remember that you get to choose what you focus on, and you are in control.
