Pathway Caring For Children

Pathway Caring For Children Pathway Caring for Children's mission is to help children and families realize the possibilities of through foster care, adoption, and counseling.

The staff members, volunteers, and foster parents of Pathway seek to make real seven basic ideals in the lives of the children who come to us. Most important, we love and care for each youth individually. We recognize them as persons and teach them to respect themselves and others; provide them with security of knowing that we are here for them; help them find the paths of success in school, work and social relationships; encourage them in the assumption of responsibility for themselves and their actions; and become personally involved with them in their struggle for meaning and purpose in life.

Next up we thank Becky McCullough who has been with Pathway for 6 years as a school-based therapist in Fairless schools.

Becky shared, "I became a social worker to help people. I love working with students to help them realize they are not their diagnosis or their past trauma, they are not the mistakes they have made. One of my most valuable memories was when a student I had been helping work through past trauma told me, “I’m proud of myself for all the things I’ve overcome. Thanks for not giving up on me.”

Thank you, Becky for always being willing to help!

💙Megan Garrett is a foster care case manager whose journey with Pathway began as an intern in 2012. After serving in multiple roles through 2022, she returned in January 2025—bringing with her a deep passion for walking alongside children and families.

Here’s what Pathway means to Megan:

"At Pathway, the heart of what we do is presence. We walk alongside children and families during seasons that are often uncertain and overwhelming, offering stability, advocacy, and care when it matters most. The impact of this work isn’t found in a single moment, but in the consistency of showing up day after day with compassion, adaptability, and grace.

I am grateful to be part of a group of people who lead with both professionalism and heart. The collaboration across Pathway, and especially within foster care, creates an environment where children are prioritized, supported, and treated with dignity, and where families are met with care and intention as they navigate complex circumstances."

Thank you, Megan, for the difference you make every day!

As continues today we’re spotlighting Deborah Garrott, Pathway’s Community Engagement Director, who has faithfully served for 23 years in a variety of roles—all advancing Pathway’s mission.

Deborah recently reflected on what led her to social work:

"I’ve recently been reminded why I chose a career in social work. My grandma passed away in December, and she was the one who first introduced me to the field. She was a Licensed Social Worker who earned her degree in her late 50s and worked in a nursing home with adults facing severe mental health challenges. Our careers became a special bond we shared, and we even attended a few continuing education trainings together before she retired."

Thank you, Deborah, for your continued commitment to Pathway!

continues and today we spotlight Caroline Grimmett! Caroline is a Licensing Assessor for the past 4 years at Pathway, working with individuals and families who are becoming foster and foster-to-adopt parents.

Caroline shared, “What keeps me motivated is getting to walk alongside families at the very beginning of their journey. I meet people who are nervous, excited, unsure if they’re “enough” and then I get to watch them step into something truly life changing. Every home study isn’t just a requirement to complete; it’s the start of a safe place for a child who needs stability, patience, and love.

I’ve seen firsthand how fostering changes not only a child’s life, but the lives of the families who say yes. It’s not always easy, but it is always meaningful. Being part of the process that helps create safe homes and forever families is something I’m incredibly proud of. I’m grateful to be part of this work.”

And we are grateful for you, Caroline and your heart to help children and families thrive!!❤
