Today we want to give a huge shoutout to Mitch Gorrell, one of NAMI Stark County’s most enthusiastic volunteers!

From teaching classes to showing up with heart and pride at community and LGBTQ+ events, Mitch brings fun, sincerity, and so much compassion to everything he does. His energy lifts the room, his honesty brings connection, and his willingness to step in wherever he’s needed makes a true difference.

Grateful for all the local NAMI leaders who gathered for the 2025 Executive Director Retreat. We’re heading home feeling inspired, energized, and ready to advocate for every Ohioan affected by mental illness.

November is Men’s Mental Health Month, a reminder that as men age, it’s easy to focus on responsibilities and overlook their own well-being. But your mental health deserves care, attention, and compassion.

NAMI Stark County Community Engagement Officer John Allensworth shares:
