Located in Canton, Connecticut, Cherry Brook Health Care Center offers residents the highest quality of senior living care. Founded and owned by New Horizons and a part of Athena Health Care Systems’ continuum of care, our staff at Cherry Brook are committed to giving residents exceptional healthcare, support, and assistance every step of the way. We strive to make them as comfortable as possible and improve their quality of life through dignified and respectful care. We are dedicated to helping families find the right living situation for their loved ones. Our staff at Cherry Brook offers compassionate, high quality care for every resident. is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that has three divisions – New Horizons Village, Cherry Brook Health Care Center, and New Horizons Middlebury. Our organization provides a continuum of care that includes housing and support services for people with physical disabilities as well as rehabilitation and inpatient nursing home care. Our community provides an environment of support in order to promote resident’s individual growth, self-determination, and the ability to reach their greatest potential. We are shaped by the population we serve. Over half of our Board of Directors is comprised of people who have physical disabilities. In addition to being part of New Horizons, we are also an affiliate of the Athena Health Care Systems’ continuum of care, providing a full spectrum of senior housing and healthcare options to the region, including short-term and long-term rehabilitation, respite, hospice, and dementia care.

We've had a busy and joyous few weeks leading up to Christmas 🎄 this year! brought some of Santa's little helpers, our residents enjoyed an outing to we had a Holiday party with live entertainment, delicious food, and plenty of cheer. We also passed out gifts to each and every resident. None of this would be possible without our Staff, vendors and the community with their generous efforts and donations.
This season we are reminded of what a special place Cherry Brook is, and that at the heart of what makes it so special, is each and every one of the residents that call it home. Whether it's for short term rehabilitation, or long term care, we are honored to be here when we are needed most.

Today we’re kicking off the Holiday Season with our annual Holiday Bazaar! 🎄🎅🏻🕎 Residents will get to “purchase” gifts for their loved ones at our Penny Bazaar. Our very own Nancy Vest is also exhibiting her hand made works of art, available for purchase all day today in the lobby. 🎄Shouting a huge “thank you” to all of the Secret Santa’s out there who came together to choose a tag off our Giving Tree this season! We only have THREE tags left! Each tag represents a resident here at Cherry Brook with a few Christmas wishes of their own. If you are able, and wish to make the holiday that much brighter for one of our well deserving residents, please come and claim a tag, donations are requested to be returned unwrapped by Monday, December 15th.

Cherry Brook staff, vendors, and families came together to donate in support of the Connecticut Caribbean Community Hurricane Melissa Disaster Relief Coalition. We’re proud of the compassion and generosity shown by our community as we stand with those affected and help provide much needed relief. Thank you to everyone who contributed to this important cause, and to for transporting the collected donations. Going into the holiday season, support is still needed by the numerous Caribbean Nations that were affected by Hurricane Melissa.
