Our Story
Windmill Wellness Ranch is a co-occurring inpatient and outpatient treatment center for alcoholism, drug addiction, and mental health issues. We have a full medical detoxification wing for those that need stabilization or detoxification.
It is located on a 75-acre ranch settled in 1840 in the beautiful Texas Hill Country on the north side of Canyon Lake. Nearby cities are Austin, San Marcos, New Braunfels, San Antonio, Boerne, and Fredericksburg. We serve patients from all over the United States.
Windmill Wellness Ranch was created out of necessity. It became clear to some of the most experienced Clinicians and Doctors that Texas did not have a holistic wellness center that addressed co-occurring disorders at a level that truly restored a person’s mental and psychical health for good. WWR is the only center designated by the State of Texas as a COSPD (co-occuring psychiatric disorders) facility.
Many people have sought help but were unable to get what they need, this was due to what is required to truly treat the entire person. Research and experience shows that addressing the underlying disorder takes Master’s Level Clinical staff to diagnosis and then treat the problem. This is done in conjunction with a psychiatrist. We do not simply give you a pill for depression or anxiety, we examine where that disorder originated. We then treat this using evidenced based practice. Many have not recognized that alcohol or substances i.e. prescription pills, illegal drugs are a symptom of a larger issue. If that issue is not addressed and treated the cycle will continue. We recognize we are dealing with individuals that need to address these issues and left unaddressed can be lethal.
