Today, we honor Dr. Martin Luther King Jr’s legacy of service, compassion, and justice. His vision reminds us that true wellness extends beyond ourselves. It thrives in community, connection, and collective care.

This MLK Day, let's recommit to:

Recovery is a personal journey, but connection makes all the difference, especially during the isolating winter months. Our latest blog explores the power of community at We Do Recover Community Center, where peer support, life-skills workshops, and substance-free social events create a foundation for lasting recovery.

At our Cape Girardeau and Sikeston locations, you'll find:

Certified peer specialists who've walked the same path
Workshops on wellness, life skills, and creative expression
Safe, judgment-free spaces to connect and heal

Recovery isn't just possible. It's happening every day in our community. Visit the website to read more from our blog.

Recovery is possible. Treatment works. And seeking help is one of the bravest steps you can take.

This month, we're breaking down stigma and raising awareness about effective, evidence-based treatments for substance use disorders. Whether you're seeking help for yourself or a loved one, know this: You don't have to do this alone. Recovery looks different for everyone, from counseling and medication-assisted treatment to peer support and family therapy. Help is available, and hope is real.

If you're struggling with substance use, reach out. Gibson Center for Behavioral Change is here with compassionate, evidence-based care. Learn more: https://gibson-center.com/Get-Help-Now/

The holidays can be a beautiful time, but they can also bring challenges to your recovery journey. You have the strength to navigate this season with confidence and peace. ✨

Here are a few tips to help you stay grounded:

β€’ Build your toolkit: Practice healthy coping skills, like mindfulness or journaling, when you feel stressed.
β€’ Lean on your people: Surround yourself with supportive friends, family, and peers who uplift you. Connection is key!
β€’ Have a plan: Know your triggers and have a plan in place for how to handle them. This could include having a sober friend you can call, or planning an exit strategy for events.

Remember, you are not alone on this path. Every step forward is a victory worth celebrating. If you need extra support this season, we're here for you. 🩡
