We would love to name drop some of our local Southeast Missouri favorites:
- Jentsy, the The Milk Mentor-Jentsy, IBCLC, our go to breastfeeding specialist and trained doula.
- Laura, The Owner of Elite Therapy & Wellness is our trusted speech and occupational therapy provider.
- Preston, owner of Guardian Primary Care is the family primary care provider that cares holistically about your experience around receiving quality primary medical care.

🤔OSTEOPOROSIS🤔

Diagnosing osteoporosis typically involves several assessments🔽

Medical History:
A healthcare provider will review the patient’s medical history, including risk factors, previous fractures, and family history.

Physical Examination:
A thorough physical exam to assess posture, height, and any signs of fractures.

Bone Mineral Density (BMD) Test:
A dual-energy X-ray absorptiometry (DEXA) scan measures bone density in the hip and spine. Results are reported as a T-score, which compares the patient’s bone density to that of a healthy young adult.

Laboratory Tests:
Blood and urine tests may be conducted to rule out other conditions affecting bone health and to check for calcium and vitamin D levels.

Osteoporosis is serious, and if you’re wondering if you might have it, call Guardian today and we will get you on the books!

😫HYPERTENSION😫

Regular blood pressure screenings are critical in detecting hypertension early. Blood pressure is measured using a cuff placed around the arm.

A healthcare provider will typically take several readings over time to confirm the diagnosis, as blood pressure can fluctuate throughout the day.

There are several stages of hypertension:

Normal: Less than 120/80 mmHg
Elevated: Systolic between 120-129 and diastolic less than 80 mmHg
Stage 1 Hypertension: Systolic 130-139 or diastolic 80-89 mmHg
Stage 2 Hypertension: Systolic 140 or higher or diastolic 90 or higher
Hypertensive Crisis: Systolic over 180 and/or diastolic over 120 mmHg (requires immediate medical attention)

Finding out if you hypertension is as easy as calling Guardian Primary Care and scheduling an appointment!
