Help us celebrate Marcy Kimbrel, BSW, a dedicated Social Worker who has been a vital member of our team for nearly 12 years! 🌟

Marcy supports Providence Place Rehab to Home and our Assisted Living residents. Whether she’s navigating complex paperwork, having the hard conversations, or thinking outside the box to solve a problem, Marcy meets every resident exactly where they are.

For Marcy, social work isn't just a career—it’s a calling. She says, "It's in the name. This profession comes with a lot of hard work. You have to come into this with your whole heart. Be prepared to laugh, cry, and celebrate successes. My best advice is to be prepared for anything and be flexible!"

Beyond her clinical expertise, Marcy is our go-to for spreading joy. From dressing up for Halloween to serving as a "dragon" for Chinese New Year, she is always at the center of our favorite memories. She loves witnessing residents create treasured moments with their loved ones.

Thank you, Marcy, for your 12 years of service on our campus! ❤️

Meet Beckey Hays, dedicated Social Worker on our team who supports our 300, 400, and 500 (Memory Care) units, She brings compassion and advocacy to our residents every single day. 💜

For Beckey, being a social worker is all about the human connection. She finds her greatest joy in meeting people from all walks of life, building deep rapport and trust, and empowering our residents through advocacy.

When asked about a favorite moment from her career, Beckey shared a story that perfectly captures why she does what she does: "I took care of a very special lady who was having a hard time adjusting to being in a nursing home. She asked me if I would be there the whole time she was here. I told her I would be there every day with her. Afterward, she told her family she had a new friend and she would be fine to stay. That made me feel so good."

We are so lucky to have Beckey’s fun-loving spirit on our team!

🌟 Rehab Success Story 🌟

We’re celebrating another incredible rehab-to-home journey with Mr. Charlie Adams.

Mr. Adams shared that from day one, “this isn’t just a facility—this is a community.” They felt truly cared for, supported, and surrounded by staff who genuinely love what they do.

They praised our team—“James, Laura and Ryan are outstanding, and every employee really cares for the patients.” With compassionate therapy and wonderful nursing care, they were thrilled to head home much sooner than expected.

And yes… they even bragged on our kitchen!
“The food is delicious—I tried things I never thought I’d enjoy!”

Their final message says it all:
“More people need to know about this place and the love from all the employees.”

Congratulations on your successful recovery Mr Adams! 💙👏
We’re so proud of you—and grateful for our amazing staff who make moments like this possible.

Social Work Month with a very special Staff Spotlight: Beth Wells, BSW! 🌟

Beth is a SEMO graduate who has been a pillar of the Lutheran Home for nearly 17 years. In a beautiful "full-circle" moment, she is currently serving the very same units (100-Hospice and 200) where she first started her career with us. She has a natural compassionate and helpful demeanor that led her to do this work as her calling.

For Beth, the Lutheran Home is truly a family affair—at various times, her husband, mother, and daughter have all worked here alongside her! When she isn’t supporting our community, she’s likely thrifting with her youngest daughter, reading, or relaxing with her husband, Paul, her two daughters, and their four beloved dogs. 🐾

"I feel honored that we get to take care of our residents and their families. They become like extended family and whether we are able to discharge home, see them thrive as long-term residents, or assist them in their final days - it is a privilege to be able to share in their lives." - Beth

Thank you, Beth, for sharing your heart and your dedication to our residents! 💙

In honor of we are proud to spotlight Maddy, a dedicated member of our Providence Hospice team for the past three years. 💙

To Maddy, being a hospice social worker means navigating a career that is as meaningful as it is ever-changing. Whether she is offering a compassionate ear, assisting with vital legal documents, or simply providing quiet companionship, her goal remains the same: ensuring every patient and family feels heard, respected, and supported.

"What I value most about my role is witnessing the incredible love and support that surrounds our patients and their families. Those moments of connection and laughter are powerful reminders of how meaningful it is to simply be present." -Maddy 😊

Thank you for bringing comfort, dignity, and heart to our community during life’s most vulnerable moments!

Meet Deana, our Director of Social Services! 🌟

Deana received her Master of Social Work degree from Washington University in 2004 and has served in various social service roles throughout her career! She has been the dedicated leader of our social work team for 8 years, and is most proud of the way the team works together and supports one another in their united purpose: doing what's in the best interest of our residents, patients, and their families.

"The most rewarding thing to me about social work is how it is beautifully unpredictable, and no two days unfold the same way. One moment you’re guiding a resident and their family through some of life’s hardest decisions; the next, you’re offering comfort through something as simple as a smile or a steady hug. Yet in every interaction, big or small, the impact is unmistakable. You witness—often in real time—how your presence can change the course of someone’s day, or even their life. It’s a reminder that compassion isn’t just a value in this profession; it’s a force that genuinely transforms people." - Deana 💙
