This past weekend, we gathered for our Providence Hospice Celebration of Life Service—a truly beautiful and moving afternoon. There is something deeply meaningful about coming together to honor those who have touched our lives and left such a lasting legacy in our hearts. 🤍

We are so grateful to Ashley Jones (Providence Hospice Director) and our entire hospice team for the care and dedication poured into this event. A special thank you to Pastor Rob Mehner (Director of Pastoral Care) and Pastor Mark Boettcher (Hospice Chaplain) for their invocation and messages; and to our amazing Alisha Curtis (Director of Life Enrichment), whose gift of song deeply moved us all. Thank you to everyone who joined us to remember, celebrate, and support one another.

💚 What’s something people might not know OT can help with?
"I had a professor once in college that liked to say, 'Mental health is everywhere.' No one is particularly happy to have to be doing therapy; they've had something in their life happen, and you have to address that alongside anything physical that is going on. OT is looking at the person as a whole—not just physically, but emotionally as well."

🌟 What is your favorite part about working with seniors?
"I love working with the geriatric population. I like to incorporate some open conversations on their past experiences and hearing their stories while we are doing treatment. There is so much to learn from generations past, and it helps increase engagement and personalization."

⭐ Her Favorite Part: Hearing stories from years past and learning from the wisdom seniors have to share. She is thankful to care for them during what can be a difficult time.

Meet Elizabeth! As an OT, she truly values the connections she forms with our residents. "My favorite part of working with seniors is hearing their life stories and wisdom," she says. "I learn something new every day!"

She also loves seeing the incredible progress her patients make. From regaining basic skills after a hospital stay to reaching the goal of returning home, Elizabeth is there every step of the way. We’re so lucky to have you on our team! 💚

April showers bring May flowers!🌷🌱🍅

Gardening is such a wonderful way for our residents to stay active, practice fine motor skills, and enjoy the great outdoors. From digging the holes to watering the new sprouts, our Memory Care crew did an incredible job planting and we can't wait to see the fruits of our labor come to life!
