Scripture & Stillness Sunday

Caregiving, grief, and uncertainty can leave us tired in ways that go deeper than physical exhaustion. Emotional and spiritual fatigue can quietly build over time.

This scripture is a gentle reminder that rest is not weakness — it’s an invitation. An invitation to lay down what we’ve been carrying, even for a moment.

If you need rest or peace today, leave a 🙏 in the comments so we can pray for you. Crown Hospice is here this week if your family needs encouragement or support.

💙 Hands & Hearts Thursday 💙

Behind every visit, every phone call, every prayer, and every quiet bedside moment…there are hands that serve and hearts that care.

Today we’re celebrating our incredible Crown Hospice team but with a little extra fun. 🎨✨ These caricatures may exaggerate a smile or two, but they capture something very real: the compassion, dedication, and joy our team brings into the lives of the families we serve.

Hospice care isn’t just a service. It’s personal. It’s relational. It’s built on hands willing to help and hearts willing to sit, listen, and love. We are so thankful for the people who make Crown Hospice what it is every single day.

Drop a 💙 in the comments to show our team some love! Or if you'd like to write a comment about how our staff made a positive impact on your family, please feel free to do so!

Seasonal changes can have a noticeable impact on sleep patterns and daily routines for seniors. Shifts in daylight, temperature, and activity levels can disrupt circadian rhythms, making it harder to fall asleep, stay asleep, or maintain consistency throughout the day. 🌤️🌙

For older adults, especially those managing chronic illness, cognitive changes, or receiving hospice or palliative care, these disruptions can affect physical health, emotional well-being, and overall quality of life.

Here are supportive ways to help seniors maintain healthy sleep and routine through seasonal transitions:
✅ Keep a Consistent Sleep Schedule - Encourage the same bedtime and wake-up time each day. Small, gradual adjustments work better than sudden changes and help regulate the body’s internal clock.

☀️ Optimize Light Exposure - Morning and early afternoon sunlight helps support healthy sleep cycles. During darker months, sitting near windows or spending time outdoors can be beneficial. In brighter seasons, dim lighting and reduced screen time in the evening help signal rest.

🛏️ Create a Sleep-Friendly Environment - A cool, quiet, and dark bedroom supports better rest. Seasonal adjustments such as breathable bedding in warmer months or added warmth and humidity in winter can improve comfort.

🕰️ Maintain Daily Routines - Consistent times for meals, medications, movement, and social interaction help reduce anxiety and promote stability, especially for seniors with cognitive changes.

🚶 Encourage Gentle Daytime Activity - Light physical movement and mental engagement during the day support better sleep at night and help prevent excessive daytime napping.

🧘 Support Emotional Well-Being - Seasonal transitions can affect mood. Calm evening routines, meaningful connection, and relaxation practices such as deep breathing or quiet reflection can promote emotional balance.

🥣 Support Healthy Nutrition and Hydration - Balanced meals, limited caffeine later in the day, and steady hydration earlier on help maintain energy and support restful sleep.

Seasonal changes are a natural part of life, but with consistency, patience, and compassionate care, seniors can continue to feel rested, secure, and supported throughout the year.

Message us to learn how hospice and palliative care support can help your loved one maintain comfort, routine, and quality of life through every season. 🤍

There is a sacredness to the final chapters of life that many people don’t talk about openly.

At Crown Hospice, we are invited into living rooms, hospital rooms, and quiet bedside moments where stories are shared, tears are shed, and love is spoken clearly. We sit in silence when words aren’t enough. We pray when families ask. And we always listen.

Hospice is not about giving up. It’s about choosing comfort, dignity, and meaningful moments together for patients and for the people who love them. These moments matter more than most people realize.

What’s something you’ve heard about hospice that surprised you or made you pause? Call Crown Hospice today for a gentle, no-pressure conversation about what support could look like for your family.

Scripture & Stillness Sunday //

Some seasons of life feel heavier than others. Caregiving, grief, uncertainty, and hard decisions can quietly press on the heart in ways others may never see.

This scripture reminds us that God does not step away from pain, He draws near to it. He sits with us in it. If today feels heavy, take a slow breath. You are not forgotten. You are not alone.

If this verse speaks to you today, leave a ❤️ in the comments so we can pray for you. Or call us If your family could use support this week, even just someone to listen, Crown Hospice is here anytime.

Grateful for Community Partners //

At Crown Hospice, we are deeply thankful for the community partners who walk alongside us and help make compassionate care possible. Hospice care is strengthened by churches, businesses, and individuals who believe in serving others with generosity and purpose.

Because of partnerships like this one, we are able to go beyond what insurance alone can cover—supporting patients and families in need, providing seminary scholarships, and investing in hospice education for our staff, volunteers, and families.

We are especially grateful for this generous donation presented to our Executive Director, Jessica Hendley, by one of our nurses, Alan Miller. This gift was made possible through Cape Baptist Church, Whippoorwill Lake Campground, and Daniel’s Roofing LLC.

Your support helps us bring dignity, compassion, and faith-filled care to patients and families during life’s most sacred moments.
If you feel led to give, you can visit the donation link below or call our office to learn about more ways to give.
