GLP-1 is having a moment.

What’s easy to forget is that this hormone has always been part of your physiology: regulating hunger, insulin signaling, and blood sugar behind the scenes.

For some women, supporting their own GLP-1 release can meaningfully change appetite patterns and metabolic stability.

When part of a metabolic health plan, CaloCurb Clinical offers a plant-based way to work with the body’s existing signaling.

Most chronic symptoms require ongoing, responsive care over time.

In the first month of offering my Monthly Care Plan, I’m already seeing the relief patients feel simply knowing they have a clinician invested in their healing.

This plan is designed for patients who want:
• Regular follow-ups
• Thoughtful lab review and interpretation
• Adjustments to treatment as symptoms evolve
• Direct clinical support between visits

To provide this level of care, I intentionally limit the number of patients I work with.
As a result, I currently have a small number of spots remaining.

Turning 60 brought clarity.

I work with patients who have done the labs, tried the diets, and seen the specialists, yet still don’t feel well. Functional medicine has taught me that healing isn’t a single intervention.

It’s an iterative process, shaped by steadiness and continuity over time.

Root cause medicine takes time.

Beginning February 2026, monthly care will be my primary way of working with functional medicine patients. This reflects what I see clinically, again and again: meaningful healing happens with continuity, adjustment, and real-time support—not isolated visits.

I’ll continue to offer acupuncture and single functional medicine visits as needed. But for most people with chronic or layered symptoms, monthly care is my recommendation.

Many people arrive at my practice after being told their labs are normal, while their bodies are telling a different story.

Functional medicine doesn’t replace conventional care. It complements it by looking more closely at patterns, interactions, and root causes that don’t always fit neatly into diagnostic categories.

Ringing in the new year in Costa Rica with my family.

2025 was a year of sharpening my work. Continued education, deeper training, and a lot of time reflecting on what works for patients. Most recently, the Longevity Conference in Vegas. Before that, completing my certification as a Microbiome Analyst with Dr. Jason Hawrelak—training that’s already influencing how I approach inflammation, hormones, and long-term health.

All of that learning is leading to some thoughtful shifts in how I’ll be practicing in 2026. Stay tuned to learn how I’m bringing more continuity into my practice in the new year.

Grateful for the pause and energized for what’s coming next. More soon.

Most probiotic labels are marketing, not medicine.

“Proprietary blend.” “Multi-strain formula.” “30 billion CFU!” Sounds impressive, right?

But none of that guarantees results.

Here’s what does matter when choosing a probiotic:
-The exact strain (down to the letters and numbers).
- Proof from human clinical trials for your specific condition.
 -A therapeutic dose.

I break it all down in my free guide, The Real Story About Probiotics — so you can choose wisely.

Download it using the link in my bio.

We’re losing microbes we evolved with, and it’s happening fast.

In every microbiome test I’ve run this year, I’ve seen the same pattern:
low Akkermansia, low Bifidobacteria, low Faecalibacterium.

In many cases, they’re nearly gone.

These species protect metabolism, immunity, gut lining integrity, and even mood. When they disappear, inflammation rises, anxiety increases, and the gut barrier weakens. This isn’t a probiotic deficiency, it’s microbial extinction driven by modern life.

The solution starts with removing disruptors and feeding the right strains.

This is why I created a free guide to help you begin rebuilding your ancestral microbiome. Link in bio.

Your gut does more than digest dinner—it’s a command center for hormones, mood, metabolism, and immunity.

When it’s under stress, the ripple effects show up everywhere: brain fog, PMS swings, cravings, breakouts, “always getting sick.”

That’s not just you being sensitive. It’s often dysbiosis—when helpful and harmful microbes fall out of balance.

The good news? We don’t have to guess. With advanced stool mapping, we can see your whole microbial landscape and create a plan that’s specific to you.

Big milestone 🌿

I just finished a 90-hour training to become a Certified Healthy Gut Practitioner. It was a deep dive into the microbiome — the community of microbes that influences everything from digestion to mood, hormones, metabolism, and inflammation.

Next up this fall: training in DNA-based microbial mapping (geeky, I know 🤓), and I couldn’t be more excited to bring this into my work.

If you’ve ever wondered why gut health matters beyond digestion, I wrote about it in a recent blog. Click the link in my bio to read it.

Thanks for celebrating this step with me 💛

California friends—We urgently need your voice!

Please help us save acupuncture coverage for people on Medi-Cal. Acupuncture has been legal in California since the 1970s and has been part of Medi-Cal coverage since 1978. It’s not just a tradition—it’s essential care.

Thousands of Californians rely on acupuncture to:
-Manage chronic pain and illness
-Heal from trauma and PTSD
-Recover from addiction
-Access culturally appropriate, whole-person care

As a provider, I’ve seen firsthand how life-changing this support is for low-income and underserved communities.

🛑 Right now, acupuncture is on the chopping block in the proposed 2025/2026 California budget. If we don’t act now, it could be cut.

💥 We have just a few days left to make an impact. Please take 2 minutes to speak up:

✅ 1. Call or email your state representatives:

✅ 2. Contact Governor Newsom:
📞 Call: 916-445-2841
✉️ Email: https://www.gov.ca.gov/contact/ and select topic: “Budget May Revise 2025/26”

🗣 Sample message (use or personalize):

"Hi, my name is [Your Name] and I live in [City/ZIP]. I’m urging you to protect acupuncture in Medi-Cal. This service helps underserved Californians manage pain, treat PTSD, and reduce reliance on opioids. Cutting this coverage would harm public health and health equity. Please keep it in the final state budget."
