We loved seeing participants explore handbuilding techniques at the Carbondale Clay Center during this sensory-friendly clay class for neurodivergent adults in our community. Learners shaped, sculpted, and expressed themselves while building fine motor skills and confidence in a calm, supportive studio environment.

Last week, Jeo Mendez, Ascendigo’s Vocational & Housing Assistant Director, toured the TACT facility in Denver—an inspiring and insightful visit as we prepare for this exciting partnership and expansion to the Western Slope.

During the visit, Jeo observed TACT’s hands-on training programs, administrative operations, and Specialized Day School (SDS), gaining a firsthand look at the day-to-day experience for students. What stood out most was the strong sense of community—students learning together, building friendships, and feeling empowered in a program that recognizes and supports them as they are.

Seeing TACT’s model in action reinforced what’s possible when organizations come together to expand opportunity, build skills, and create meaningful career pathways for neurodiverse individuals. Big things are ahead—and we’re just getting started. ✨

We’re thrilled to welcome Miranda Halverson, who officially joins Ascendigo today as our new Senior Director of Development!

Miranda brings a strong track record in fundraising, donor engagement, and strategic partnerships. Most recently at arc Thrift Stores, she led a statewide volunteer program across 38 locations, secured $1.5M in grants, implemented revenue-driving sustainability initiatives, and helped generate more than $9M in annual payroll savings.

With a background in business development, dual degrees in Economics and International Studies, and experience serving on statewide advisory boards, Miranda brings a powerful mix of strategic vision, operational excellence, and results-driven leadership.

A Carbondale resident, Miranda is inspired by the energy of the Roaring Fork Valley and excited to deepen Ascendigo’s relationships and philanthropic impact. She’s also looking forward to connecting with our community at Ascendigo Blue Aspen on March 7 at the historic Hotel Jerome.

Join a super fun dance to kick off the Western Regional Winter Games at Sunlight the following day!

We are honored to welcome Tanner Smith and his mother, Nicci Smith, beloved personalities from the hit Netflix series Love on the Spectrum, as our featured guest speakers for the 2026 gala.

This authentic and engaging mother-son duo will share a lively, heartfelt presentation that captures real stories of growth, connection, self-discovery, and the power of compassion—beautifully illuminating life on the spectrum and the strength of community.

Thrilled to join the entire CMC staff at their Winter In‑Service for a professional development session on supporting students with disabilities—with approximately 60 faculty in attendance!

We introduced Autism 101 and explored practical ways to best support individuals with autism to ensure an inclusive, engaged learning environment where everyone can thrive. Huge thanks to Colorado Mountain College Spring Valley at Glenwood Springs for the warm welcome and steadfast commitment to inclusion! 💙
