If you’re trying to avoid genetically modified foods, labels matter.
The most reliable label to look for is USDA Organic. Organic certification strictly prohibits genetic engineering, so organic foods are always non-GMO.
Another trusted option is Non-GMO Project Verified. This label means the product has been independently tested and meets rigorous non-GMO standards.
Be cautious of vague terms like “natural,” “clean,” or “made with real ingredients.” These claims are not regulated and do not indicate whether a food is genetically modified.
When in doubt, choose organic! It's the most comprehensive standard for avoiding GMOs and reducing overall chemical exposure.
