Donald E. Caves, 73, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 14,2026 in Springfield, IL.

Services will be held at 12 pm on Thursday, April 23, 2026, at Abundant Faith Christian Center. 2525 Taylor Ave., Springfield, IL.

A Visitation will occur prior to the services from 11 am to 12 pm at the Church. Final resting place will be in Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Springfield.

Walker Funeral Home in Springfield, IL is in charge of arrangements.

A service celebrating her life will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, April 24, 2026, at Olivet Free Will Baptist Church, 409 N. Marion St., Carbondale, Illinois. A visitation will be held prior to the service from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the church.

Burial will follow in Oakland Cemetery in Carbondale, Illinois.

She will forever remain in our hearts and be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Bernice was born on May 1, 1941, to George and Mary Winks in Grenada, Mississippi. She lived a life marked by grace, kindness, and quiet strength. A woman of unwavering faith, she carried a gentle spirit that touched all who knew her.

A Homegoing Memorial Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 17, 2026, at Christ Community Church, located at 473 W. Harrison Road, Murphysboro, Illinois.
