Bernice Neblett, 84, of Murphysboro, Illinois, answered the Lord’s calling on Tuesday, November 25, 2025, at the Metropolis Rehab and Health Care Center in Metropolis, Illinois.

Bernice was born on May 1, 1941, to George and Mary Winks in Grenada, Mississippi. She lived a life marked by grace, kindness, and quiet strength. A woman of unwavering faith, she carried a gentle spirit that touched all who knew her.

A Homegoing Memorial Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 17, 2026, at Christ Community Church, located at 473 W. Harrison Road, Murphysboro, Illinois.

Bernice will be lovingly remembered by all who knew and cherished her.

It is with profound sorrow that we announce the passing of Edna L. Mason, age 92, who answered the Lord’s calling on Saturday, January 3, 2026, at her home, surrounded by her loving family.

Services celebrating her life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 17, 2026, at Olivet Free Will Baptist Church, located at 409 N. Marion St., Carbondale. A visitation will take place prior to the service from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the church.

Burial will follow the service at Oakland Cemetery in Carbondale.

She leaves to cherish her memory her sister, Georgia Warren of St. Louis, Missouri; nieces, Sharon Smith, Tishaunda Higgerson, Russi (Tony) Austin, and Tomeka Parker; nephew James Green III; along with a host of great-nieces, great-nephews, other relatives, and friends who will forever hold her close in their hearts.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, Lynn Brown and one brother, Mack Winks.

A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 17, 2026, at Christ Community Church, located at 473 W. Harrison Road, Murphysboro, Illinois.
